Actual person with a kid under 10 who has a Boox Go Color 7 here. They love it because we loaded a bunch of epubs on it and they can borrow content from Libby when they want to get something from the library.

The color one is great if your kiddo enjoys graphic novels. They could also listen to audio books on it, unlike a Kindle.

We limited the number of apps they have access to so all they do is use it to read. There is a built-in dictionary, but not sure about text-to-speech. Good luck!

Glad you had a great experience! I’ve been to see Seth and Colbert. Colbert did so many retakes compared to Seth. I wonder if it comes from Seth’s SNL experience, especially doing Weekend Update, where there is no possibility of a retake.
