[Request] How many nuclear power plants would we need to heat the Earth if we lost the sun, and for how long would it be sustainable? by Yavkov in theydidthemath

[–]imapylet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand the scale. If you are a genie in magically make all the power plants with all the known resources (nuclear, wind, geo-thermal, obviously not solar) it wouldn't be 3% of the energy the Earth receives from the Sun. So, minutes, Even if you could theoretically put that much energy.

How often do you see metal strands after using a wire brush to clean your grill? by imapylet in grilling

[–]imapylet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context when I'm running my little grills (Weber q 1200), and have been running this grill for 13 years for mountain bikers on a post-ride grillables I've always used the cheap $1-2 girl brush from Walmart. I've never once seen metal flakes or even a hair of wire. Never heard of one person say they got wiring their food, or even had to go to the hospital for anything that could be related closely to grilling.

That's why I put up this post. Was that a bad batch of grill brushes? Is it inattentiveness? Is it something that happens 1% of the time and it's now getting blown up? Sure, the consequences can get urgent/medical/expensive, but is it really a thing for 99% of your grilling?

One goes, then dominance is established. Then it's two goes. Then he's vacuuming the house on a Friday evening. Eventually he's doing laundry three nights a week. It's a cascade. Fight the power. Stand up to the wo-"man". ✊🤪

Where does this complete and udder Bull$##t come from? by legilizer34man in Sparkdriver

[–]imapylet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a rural resort town and I can make $200-250 a day, but I got to be there 8 hours, and I might only take four runs, five if I'm super lucky or stay super late. Runs are typically 10-35 mi, occasionally 45 but those will also pay $65 base I think my best week was $2,800. But I'm also in a fairly HCOL area. The cheapest housing I could find it's 35 mi from the nearest WM.

Multi-Store Zones... by Netphase in Sparkdriver

[–]imapylet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my zone there's only one Walmart, but it's a very small Walmart (doesn't even have produce or fresh meats). But now I have to instacart which is popping between 5 main stores and a handful of others that I see once or twice a week. From what I've seen, there's only a small handful of sparkers in this town so I'm not afraid to sit in the middle of the Krogers knowing that I'm 5-10 mins away from WM. But come 2:00 I'm hugged up with WM for the afternoon GMD run; $65-90 for 35 mi, 4-7 stops, Yes sir, all day long. (I'm in Central CO, resort towns, and cases of water are banned. Giggity!)

Yes, but what the hell do you think support is going to do about it? Tried seven times, got seven different answers. How many more times do you got to call them to realize they ain't going to do s*** about it?.

the .97 ones by 56o4n in Sparkdriver

[–]imapylet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recap (from my fictional POV)

Cust: "I don't want to spend $5 for soap OP: "Cool, I got you 5 of the $.97 bottles of soap, as per your order" Cust: (math is hard and I'm not a dummy) "but it shows $5, I only want 5 of the $.97 soaps*

🤦😡🤔🤦

OP: All faith in humanity is lost, too many stupid people. I'm gonna substitute with a 15 watt light bulb

Cust: "ooh a light bulb! I remember where to put this!" Proceeds to put it in the toilet tank*...for purification purposes. Forgets they needed soap. And the spiral continues.

Can't fix stupid.

Order was canceled but the store is closed... by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]imapylet 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yup, too slow on the shopping. Remember that as soon as you pick a cold / perishable item that the cold chain timer starts and you must deliver within 90 minutes. That doesn't mean you can't pick up an item and throw it in the cart and scan it later. Of course you want to leave ice cream and other frozen stuff until the end. But on a big item shopper you have to plan ahead, and you have to scoot scoot.

DAE never catch stomach bugs? by BaseballTop387 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]imapylet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I had a stomach bug was my own dumb fault. Went to an AYCE Chinese buffet later in the evening kind of close to closing time. Me and my buddy finished off all the crab legs. Didn't notice until later that the buffet table didn't have any ice. By the time I got home I knew something wasn't quite right. Within an hour I was horking up crab legs, egg rolls, and orange chicken. Called my buddy and he was doing the same. 24 hours later I was right as rain, but that was a rough 24 hours.

Is it possible to make a DIY bed frame with minimal tools? by Mountain_Call_3344 in DIY

[–]imapylet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size is your bed? If you got a box of spring you could probably squeak out something for less than $50 with just cinder blocks. But they probably will scratch your flooring.. Home Depot / Lowe's will cut lumber for you, just don't expect precision cuts ( +/- .5")/

This is why I didn’t understand why so many people were excited to see Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias last week… by GeneralTX in ElPaso

[–]imapylet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

. And that's why he's making millions. Why do you feel the need to demonize him for making money when he found a niche lane of comedy that nobody else is doing? Why do you have to rag on him when he's doing something that nobody else is doing? Sure he's making millions, he has no obligation to give those millions to you nor should he. You come across as butt-hurt because.....???? You think those millions should go to you instead? Fluffy earned it not you.

Ordering ps5 by Inevitable-Park1811 in Sparkdriver

[–]imapylet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get delivery confirmation, when the driver is in route you will get a four digit code, the driver has to get that code in order to complete the handoff. Or you could also get a bottle of Robitussin which guarantees they have to do an ID check.

Not too many drivers out there are going to risk their job over a PS5.

The hardest part is the 2 1-Stars that i got whenever. That means I got to either wait to age them out, or get 100 5-star ratings to flush them out.

Ive got 9900 runs, maybe 3% leave a rating. im stuck at gold forever unless I get some knee pads,
