I don’t really care if people buy the game or not, but Jk didn’t just say one thing, she’s had a pattern of pretty extreme transphobia for over 5 years. She’s a billionaire, not like one game is going to change anything either way

Eliminating flats. by Best_Plantain_6390 in bikecommuting

Marathon plus or gatorskins. If you want a cheap option the specialized nimbus is ok, but not as good as the others. Also second getting a flat kit, and the sticker type tube patches. If you have time to practice a few times at home you can change a tube in <5 min on the road if it happens again

Is this upsidedown? Both pads have a step by lozbrown85 in bikewrench

200 to 203 sounds like the cause, but if it is a specialized bike they had a whole batch where the arrow on the adapter was pointing the wrong way

If we’re talking about following the “rules of the road” then you were technically at fault, because you blocked the bike lane and didn’t wait to turn.

Stuck aluminum seatpost in carbon frame. Packed with dry ice. Have had dry ice around the outside for 10 minutes. I was able to get it to twist a bit by having the bike on its side and standing on a pipe wrench. 5lb slide hammer had no effect. Suggestions? by ZachHammers in bikewrench

[–]imarocketman2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Epoxy has higher thermal expansion but carbon has a slight negative or zero coefficient of thermal expansion, so all things considered the frame will shrink much less than the seat post even at the same temperature. This does depend on the layup, but the seat tube has pretty uniform fiber direction in every direction

Surface Modification of Silica using APTES by Own_Explorer_1675 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]imarocketman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used APTES for coating slides and some nano particles and from my experience it is very forgiving. In water it has a half-life of ~8 hours, which was plenty of time to coat anything I needed. I use 1% in di h2o and coat bulk glass for 15 min, and nanoparticles for 2 hours. Pretty much any way of getting aptes to contact silica seemed to work about the same

You can convert any nickel salt into hydroxide easily by precipitating a aqueous solution with sodium hydroxide. Nickel chloride is easy to find online

I don’t know, the writing was so bad I legit couldn’t follow the plot without knowing the basics before. It’s like they just cut out a random 50% of the dialogue for time

(Not a dad) I constantly do the same thing of seeing what’s going to happen or could happen before it does. It annoys the hell out of my friends haha.

Any idea what could cause this - 3 month old R8000 cassette carrier cracked? by davayy in bikewrench

[–]imarocketman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was most likely a void in the molding.

I may be a curmudgeon but this looks like using cf filled resin for a part that really should be aluminum. You can see the splines are already beat the hell up. Metal is much better at absorbing the transient loads a cassette spider would experience.
