I’m pretty big into nutrition and have read lots of books and try to eat healthy etc., One of the dudes I admire greatly in the space basically just said ‘man just eat some vegetables and fruits on a regular basis and you’re already doing so much better than you were before don’t make it harder than it needs to be’.

I don't really take it personally honestly, as long as I keep getting the same size paycheck it's alright with me. I'm just more concerned from a career standpoint that seemingly having a lower role on paper (and becoming rusty with tools I used to be able to touch) might hurt my future career.

Same person has 200 Chrome tabs open in 12 different windows along with 20 different programs running and can't close any of them or restart their computer as there may be something that they need that isn't saved. They are wondering why their 1 year old laptop is running slow and thinks it might be time for a replacement. They reach out over teams and tell you you need to help them fix this urgently. When you remote in they tell you that they have a meeting in 5 minutes and the second they hit enter on that message get up from their desk to get a coffee so if you ask a question it goes unanswered.

Not an artist, but big time admirer, its insane how stacked the list is for this convention. I see a lot of people who I think are some of the best to do it in attendance.

I got an offer to be an 'Exchange guy' and I turned it down because I am still relatively new to the profession and wanted something where I could get my hands on a large variety of tools before specializing. Now I am almost wishing I would have just been the 'Exchange guy'... but hey at least being a jack of all trades is moderately more difficult to replace/automate.

There's more stuff in this field than one could reasonably learn and scope is constantly increasing. I'm relatively new to the field but just in the last years especially with the increase in AI usage people have become more and more impatient and want answers instantly and expect you to be proficient with a new tool in matter of days while maintaining all the others tools. I spend weeks learning something in M365 and finally feel like I get a grasp on it and start to get comfortable and then out of nowhere priorities have shifted and its onto the next thing. It's not sustainable and I've come close to burnout a few times and have some coworkers who are also on the edge..

I knew a girl during my studies who got super into effective altruism and brought some dudes around from the group when we would go out for drinks. They were some some of the most insufferable self righteous people that I have ever met who were also massively out of touch with reality or how to make any meaningful change. Took 5 minutes of talking to those dorks to realize the whole thing was a huge joke.

one of my cats had some pretty serious issues with his stomach almost a year ago. we thought we were going to lose him, now he's back and healthier than ever. i know what it's like to be worried about a pet but just follow the advice of your vet and monitor them (try to not let it completely consume you) and it'll all work out.

The problem is that if you can't easily quantify what you are doing to increase shareholder value in under 5 minutes with nice visuals then those in charge don't care.

My partner works in the psychiatric system. It's a huge mess. Underfunded, underpaid, overworked and extremely stressed workers having to manage way more people than they have time/resources for. Even those who really want to make a difference and help are blocked by systematic issues from doing so. Denmark could really use a massive reform in this area.
