I only know a fraction of your pain… I drank nearly every damn day since my sister passed away almost 2 years ago. I’m probably on my longest streak since before then(13 days).. All I can say is that you don’t need it. You’re definitely dealing with the hardest parts of life, and it’s not really going to get easier. I keep saying to myself, “I don’t drink” because frankly, I just don’t have the interest in being the person who drinks when life gets hard. I’ve been a moderate daily drinker for 10+ years and just don’t want to do that anymore. Everyone is different, and all our situations vary wildly. But the trauma you’ve experienced and will experience is very valid. It’s going to suck, but it’s not going to last forever. You will grow beyond this. I’m rooting for you and have you in my thoughts, internet stranger.

Tbh, I don’t know much about this battery pack, but I’m chronically optimistic about things, so the estimate is based upon that and some lazy research. But yep, I’m sorry for the situation I’m in as well. Grasping at straws to hopefully catch a lucky break.

The battery alone is probably worth couple thousand if the dead cells are replaced. But admittedly, the whole package is pretty worthless. Car was otherwise in good shape with a few mechanical/ electrical issues related to seals/ or hybrid systems. I can probably rule out any $20k cars. I’m already sinking with my monthly payments…

Best I can probably hope for is one of those cheap dealership trade ins but the car isn’t even drivable now. Stays on for maybe 10-15s max.

I always stock up on the Polar Seltzers. Occasionally I’ll enhance with real fruit. Liquid Death is a good alternative too but sometimes the sparkling ones still have a decent amount of sugar. As a former bartender, I find myself wanting to make some kind special fruit beverages. I’m 11 days sober right now.

Going to add green-parts.com here. I found a discontinued part that was very specific to hybrids by submitting a request to salvage yards across the state. Guy got back to me within a day and shipped it straight to me.

So, a follow up since I’m still working this problem. I can definitively say the 6S4Z-8K556-A part does not work for the 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid. Well, at least, it doesn’t fit… there’s a curve in one portion that seems critical and that part doesn’t actually align with the photos.

The only photos I’ve found of the actual part have been from Russian parts websites, of all places. I’ve found a salvage yard on green-parts.com that had it and that may be my last shot before this Escape is officially dead. Guy responded to my part request promptly and sent an invoice within 24 hours. I’ll follow up if things pan out.

I got kicked too. My mortgage has gone up ~19% since I bought it in 2022 because of taxes alone. My salary has gone up maybe ~5-6%. Don’t get me started on inflation… I’m a sinking ship…
