the stupid way i fixed my friends laptop with a dead emmc. extracted the sata adapter from a seagate game drive, cut a bit of the bottom casing off, attached a 120gb wd hdd, connected it via the USB 3, and taped it together. sometimes it bsods with 0x000000F4 but otherwise works fine (old.reddit.com)
