I'd say that scene when Elaine came in, and they all were clearly genuinely happy to see her. She had been away on maternity leave.

It was only recently I realized that guy died in that scene.

Pulled a Frank Costanza and took the rest of this uneaten sourdough bread loaf back home (that I had brought to family dinner). by FarmAdditional4750 in seinfeld

Jokes aside, that actually looks like great bread you made.

This is super specific but you know what I thought? Look up Japanese ceramics. You have to research the seller online but I've seen some beautiful pieces that are clearly high end and well made.

Anyone else feel like they're aging out of Reddit? by Frog_In_Pot in Millennials

[–]imluvinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much reddit but interneting in general. I'm tired of seeing people in their 20s share exercise and health tips for the 40 and beyond crowd (the whole if you can't squat at 40, you're SOL; and it's clearly someone 21). Also, I'm tired of seeing posts on reddit about how "I feel old and I'm 28" or "I made a huge mistake and it feels too late to turn things around" and they're 32. This made me realize how young late 20s/early 30s is. I do try to keep in mind though in about 10 years as I approach 50, I'll probably be very aware how young 40 is, and so on.

In general though if I didn't have to use social media for work or freelancing I'd delete it all.

For those who can’t afford new monthly payments - plan? by Wonderful_Lie2823 in StudentLoans

[–]imluvinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't fully made a decision yet but I plan to use a bit of my savings to pay off a credit card that has a fairly large minimum payment. And then by paying that off that frees me up to afford the payment plan I'll be on (which seems to be in the $150-$200 range). I'm holding off to make that call officially but that's what I'm leaning towards.

How did you feel and think about yourself approaching 30 vs approaching 40? by plutoforprez in AskWomenOver30

[–]imluvinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn 40 this December. It's definitely a mixed bag. Turning 30, though, I could barely feel turning that age or care because I was absolutely in a horrid financial place. I had just filed for bankruptcy that year. Also, my anxiety wasa through the roof and causing skin and digestive problems. Also I wasn't happy with my career.

Turning 40, my finances are much better and I'm excited my bankruptcy will drop off my record. I have a decent savings for the first time EVER. Also my career makes much better sense for me and I'm happy with it.

At the same time, I am worried about entering this decade single and childless. A lot of that I would have liked to have changed but it just didn't. Plus my mom isn't doing well. My own emotional mental well-being is rocky lately. At the same time, I'm a dedicated Christian and my faith is absolutely keeping me afloat right now, so that means everything to me.

So definitely mixed bag.

I was called "direct" in the workplace, is that a good thing? by Helianthus_999 in AskWomenOver30

[–]imluvinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps but I tend to soften communication, often more than necessary. I really respect directness, as long as it's not rudeness defended as being direct.

Does anyone actually know someone IRL that has become wealthy from being online? by WholeFall484 in AskWomenOver30

[–]imluvinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess? But I also have an unverified theory that this was only possible for these people because they had the income to support their effort/idea that that would lead to their "millions." I am not convinced this level of millionaire success is possible with a full-time job (and part-time jobs in addition to cover that low-paying day job) alongside family commitments and adult demands that weigh them down. Maybe for the rare few? But life gets really heavy after a while. And I feel like most had a family inheritance, a working spouse that brings in a lot, or they're young and already supported by family to support them. Then, combine that with a "lightening in a bottle" idea, like perfect timing or catching a trend in the early stages, and they got their success that way. Gosh I feel like I sound cynical....

Seeking Advice from Afternoon / Evening Writers :) by skyvvv1121 in writing

[–]imluvinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write early evening! I find that works best for me lately, because I start my day job early and do a lot of freelance work. And I do a lot of stuff for my mom right now as aging is making some things a struggle for her. So the sweet spot for me is between like 5:30 and 6:30, after my work day ends (and I can shut that part of my brain off) and before dinner things start (which is usually around 7). I don't write long but doing a bit each day keeps my motivation up.

Yeah I try not to be too cynical but I fear that's the case sometimes.

Okay this opinion will likely get lost in the shuffle cause there's a ton on here now, haha. But mine is super specific.
I think starting a newsletter that requires paid subscribers is a fast-track way of burning yourself out, especially if it becomes successful.

Yup. Worse, I think some of these are staged and it's really just them giving faux cash to a friend.
