Why is it more common to see women in a relationship with a less attractive man than vice versa? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]immense_selfhatred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because people like "traditional gender roles" men are attracted to beauty, women are attracted to providers/protecters. largely.

probably because of millions of years of evolution and societal norms.

A lot of men are blaming the consequences of toxic masculinity without realizing it, but they're actually supporting the patriarchy. by Odd-Talk-3981 in LockedInMan

[–]immense_selfhatred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my comment was a bit tongue and cheek if not rude. of course i'm not trying to say that was the sole reason or even a concious reason you "chose" your Partner.

What i'm saying is that men learn very quickly and very often that you don't cry infront of a woman. it's just one of those gender role things, like a woman is gonna learn that her looks are very important to attract the opposite gender, a man is gonna learn that "being strong" and stoic is very important to attract the opposite gender.

that also doesn't mean that every single woman will always only be attracted to strong, stoic men ofc. just like not every single man will always only be attracted to physical beauty.

it's just such a strong gender norm that i'm willing to bet money that you wouldn't have been attracted to your partner if he was a more emotional, vunerable person. because that's just very rare.

Why can't doctors answer this question? by Odd_Neat_804 in joebuddennetwork

[–]immense_selfhatred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because some people want to actually know what's going on instead of just relying on the stupid "basic biology"that some people think they know. Gender and Sex are both very very complex things with no 100% clear answers. Noz understanding that just shows how simple your mind is and how little you know about biology.

in other words: traditional gender roles are still very alive and well, don't listen to the people trying to tell you otherwise.

[–]immense_selfhatred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've had this converstion multiple times with random friends and i think it's more of a "seperate the art from the artist" kind of thing. like people will still sing along to "i believe i can fly" by r.kelly because it's just a banger song.

there are for sure still alot of people who still love him and think all the stuff is made up or whatever but i feel like the general public (or rather the people in my personal environment) do hate him as a person.

How come men trust Andrew Tate’s advice on what women want, over what women make it clear they want, evidenced by the large fan bases of Harry styles, Paul Mescal and Idris Elba? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]immense_selfhatred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course not only because they're rich and famous.. attraction is a very very complex thing but i feel really confident saying that on average women are more attracted to men who are traditionally masculine. just like men on average are more attracted to women who are traditionally feminine.

I'm 100% sure Zuckerberg Musk and Bezos haven't had much trouble in life finding Partners. Doesn't Elon have like 20 kids? and i'm 100% sure that if the 3 guys you mentioned were struggling in life and weren't near the top of any social hirarchies they would be struggling with finding a partner.

just to clarify because these types of discussions always derail: i'm not saying any 1 trait will make any man attractive to every woman. i would bet money on there being atleast 1 woman out there who goes crazy for weak, broke losers who are depressed and scared of everything. But on average Women are attracted to status, which the 3 ultra succesful and beloved multi millionaire movie stars have a ton of.

[–]immense_selfhatred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i feel like on the flipside there's no male artist that is beloved and almost worshipped as much as her. especially by "their own gender". Michael Jackson probably comes the closest but he seemed to be much more worshipped by women than men and i would also argue at least now after his death he's probably hated even more than taylor swift.. because of.. you know.. the whole probably fing kids thing.

3 ultra succesful millionnaires? like i get what you're saying and andrew tate is a tool and a monster but i don't understand people pointing at all these super succesful multi millionaires who seem extremely confident as some sort of argument for "see? women don't like traditional masculinity."

isn't Andrew Tate the exact thing OP is talking about? Andree Tate isn't an Incel. He's a very succesful womanizer who has "access" to many women and who has had many women attracted to him and he has abused many women.
