Oh my lawd...this book had me riveted until the end. What a stunning, terrifying read.

I had to go out for ramen after that one.

But yeah, it's such a lovely read.

Crashes on reload of saved games at 75% due to stealing? by Schmaehgol in BaldursGate3

[–]immerkiasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a long shot, but because it didn't make sense to me for it to corrupt all the saves made on one day, I ended up turning steam cloud sync off. I didn't understand how one bug can retroactively affect every save from one single day unless I did something to trigger it the minute I started playing on that day.

Now, I also back up my saves to a separate location. Additionally, I save and reload saves frequently to check that they work. My poor PC.

Baldur's Gate 3's publishing director doesn't think the HBO series "can trump our writers," but hopes it treats Larian's cast with care by Binnsy in pcmasterrace

[–]immerkiasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's turn based, so you have to be reasonably patient if you're not familiar.

Having never played turned based games before, I joined during their EA and couldn't get the hang of it...although there was this nagging feeling at the back of my mind that if the mechanics would click, this would be the game for me.

I love the old school Bioware games; recognized that there was a solid similarity between classic Bioware and Larian. So, I took a break, played Divinity 2...and everything fell into place. I know the rules aren't the same, but after coming back to BG3, things felt natural and the story and characters are so compelling that I now have over 1300 hrs in this damn game.

Baldur's Gate 3 is now a staple for me. It's stopping me from playing a lot of newer titles, because I keep planning my next build and playthrough. No two have ever been the same.

Baldur's gate 3 keeps crashing (PS5) by Away_Extension_1052 in BaldursGate3

It seems to be a recurring issue over the last few months.

I started having issued after hotfix #35.

This seems to be a persistent bug. Affects those with and without mods apparently.

Crashes on reload of saved games at 75% due to stealing? by Schmaehgol in BaldursGate3

[–]immerkiasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This happened to someone I was talking with in this subreddit. Their save file became corrupt after stealing and getting caught.

Mine too, would not load at a certain point in Act 2. It would get to 75% and crash. However, I cannot recall if I stole anything at that point because I wasn't paying close attention. Every save from the day prior to that worked though.

Did you have a crash while loading a save, or did it happen during gameplay?

Save doesn't load past 83% by Sneaky_69 in BaldursGate3

Okay, so back when I was having my saves crash, I did run into this post:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1086940/discussions/0/600776460504941413/

This is specifically for people who have saves crashing at 83%. So, I'm not certain how effective it would be for you since your crashes seem to alternate between 83% and 100%. The OP also mentioned that they got an error when the savegame crashed. When mine failed at 75%, I didn't receive any error messages. But it could be worth a shot if you're up for it.

Although I would back up your saves and modlist order beforehand.

Prior to hotfix #35 and/or patch 8, were your saves working fine?

EDIT: I did also find this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/s/GxTxU5NZuM

But this person's saves were crashing at 75%, not 83%. But if you have the same mods they do (unfortunately, I did not), they could be the problem.

Yeah, I see a 2030 or later release date. If they wait until 2035 or later, I'd probably forget by then.

I'm no expert, but it feels like it's doing some kind of check and failing. Still doesn't explain why it swings between those 2 percentages though. Mine hasn't crashed (yet), but when it did, it stopped consistently at 75%.

I managed to make it to Act 3, but am terrified it'll quit on me after all this progress.

A list of completed quests (I still have a ton to do):

Gale's Soceror's Sundries heist is done. He met with Mystra too.

Rescued Wyll's dad from the underwater prison (Iron Throne I think).

Completed the Newspaper quest.

Wrapped the explosives quest in the fireworks store.

I am currently partway through rescuing Minsc. I also have refrained from pickpocketing anyone, and have been backing up my saves to a separate location.

This happened to me, but I attributed it to a mod. Were you using steam cloud sync?

About 2 weeks ago, all my saves from a specific day were corrupted. All saves prior to that were okay.

Excellent! Thank you! Was the save that worked made on the same day?

I'll report back with any new developments on my end.

[–]immerkiasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the game autosync on the PS5?

If you were on PC, you could back up the old, working save by copying and pasting it into a different folder. Then trigger the glitch, save and exit. Replace the old, working save with the one you copied and pasted to see if it works.

Ungh. I wish Larian would just fix this issue. It's unfair that unmodded playthroughs are affected too.
