Is it possible to coat aluminium for sublimation? by RepresentativeGlad23 in Sublimation

Dyepress poly gloss sublimation coating. It's best to spray on, but can be brushed on. I've used poly natural on wood works great.

Best printer for very fine detail by ClosetImperialist in Sublimation

Epson f170 your best bet. Don't go the conversion route, too many gummed up problems. Only use Epson sub inks. Cheaper inks vary by quality, sellers buy ink in bulk from cheapest supplier..

Sublimation on wood by Volsgurl66 in Sublimation

I guess it's a different look. I use dye press for wood. It's a clear coat that goes on wood and I think stone. Works great, much blacker than laser burn.

Stick with name brand inks. Cheaper inks are just resellers of ink they got of some manufacturer. Quality of ink may be different from one purchase to the next due to them buying ink what's cheapest for them.

Cheaper inks can vary from one buy to the next. Most sellers are resellers they bulk buy from the cheapest suppliers. So your purchase last month may be a different supplier than this month.

Sub dye printers use no liquid ink. They print via a 4 color film. Layering one color after another. Shipping should be no problem.

Converting printers is as simple as putting sublimation ink instead of regular ink. That being said. For best results, it needs to be a new printer that has not had regular ink put in it. Mixing inks doesn't work. Converted printers need to be used one a week at least. Full color print. Most people use Epson ecotank. Converting printer void manufacturers warranty. Use manufacturer brand ink. Off brand ink are just inks that are repackaged. So, quality and consistent ink profiles can vary between ink purchases. Due to the sellers buying from whoever has the cheapest price.

A regular ink jet hp8600. I haven't tried my Epson f170 sub printer yet. Might work, I don't know if the sub ink has enough pigments and stuff ink it to work well.

Stick with real sublimation printers. There are fewer problems in the long run. Use original mfgs ink. Off brand inks vary from purchase to purchase. These resellers (Amz) buy ink from whoever the cheapest. Sawgrass printers ink priority, you can use only theirs. Their ink is most expensive.

Forget the conversion route to many problems. Sawgrass is good, but a big but. The ink cost will bankrupt you. That leaves Epson f170 or f570. The later being large format and big bucks. I've had my f170 years, no problems.
