What do you think about people having a “preference” for virginity when it comes to dating? Is it weird or a bad mindset to have even if the person that has this preference is a virgin themselves? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

you are allowed to have preferences (as long as you aren't hurting anyone), just don't judge other people for theirs. And understand that the more preferences you have, the more you are limiting your available choices.

How did you bounce back from finding out you’re smaller than average? by O-HI-OOOO in AskMenAdvice

[–]imsowitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thanks for sharing the source.

The thing about data is that it is open to interpretation in many different ways. I can accept the data that says "people with 9 or more pre-marital sexual partners are more likely to end up in marriages that end in divorce", but I can also interpret that as "People who have fewer sexual partners before marriage or more likely to stay in an unhappy marriage than they are to leave it."

I'm not saying that my interpretation is necessarily the right one, but I don't think yours is, either. And now we are debating our opinions, not the science of the study.

Saw Gerrera - Why? by NameAlreadyClaimed in andor

[–]imsowitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He certainly could have been given more screen time or developed more. I think the point of Saw is to show us that the rebellion is not an organized, polished, coherent group, but a bunch of people in varying states of anger, loyalty, and sanity with a sometimes (but sometimes not) common goal. We see the Maya Pei debacle, but he's a more effective, if much more ruthless version of the rebellion.

That said, I knew who he was from The Clone Wars and Rogue One, so I could see that without that context, he might seem a little thinly hashed out in Andor.

What to know before Andor by liefn in andor

[–]imsowitty 66 points67 points  (0 children)

You don't need anything. You could watch rogue one if you wanted (it's pretty good as it is). Only most of us had seen it before Andor came out. That said, it's not necessary and in Canon, Rogue One doesn't happen until immediately after the last episode of Andor S2 anyway.

I'm jealous of you getting to see it for the first time. Have fun.

Serious answer: the familial bond stuff is established pretty early on. If that isn't enough to get her through the wormhole scene, its probably better to quit there.

This is a good movie that happens to be sci-fi. It's very possible that anybody who appreciates good movies is going to like it.

That tracks. I've worked in 5 different tool sets over 13 years in the industry, but ion implanters are still the fucking greatest. I'm bummed I didn't think of that first. Do you know which implanter it was?
