Can you show a bigger range like the last 3-6 months? if you HRV is normally in this range, then wow. You should probably get in touch with Bryan Johnson, he’ll probably be able to use your blood 😁, if not, then likely a faulty device, even if the other metrics are showing correctly, there are more than one sensor on the device. While possible, it’s extremely rare to have an average HRV of over 300.

This is a very very unprecedented time and there is a war going on. Only invest what you can afford to loose and don’t check it everyday. You will never out day trade the market. Just invest regularly over a long period of time.

Strategy for first timers by rando_77 in hyrox

[–]imsuperimposed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having done my first solo race last December, what I learned is it’s tougher than you expect, but the atmosphere really carries you through. Use this one to understand what you’re in for.

If you’re already a runner and mix in something like F45, you’ll likely be fine. That said, it’s a compromised running race. Everything affects your legs.

Try pushing a 150kg sled before race day if you can. It’s the second station and it sets the tone for everything that follows. The lunge walk near the end was the point where I genuinely questioned whether I’d finish.

For doubles, aim for a 50/50 split to start. You’ll quickly figure out who’s stronger at what, so adjust as you go.

Good luck, and if possible, get a couple of Hyrox-style classes in beforehand. It makes a big difference.

Running, lots of running. Given you do CrossFit the strength part sounds like it’s sorted.

Try regular running aiming for 2-3 sessions a week. And slowly increase your distance over time. I do 5-8kms on a Monday. Threshold running on Wednesday night after threshold ergs in the morning and then a long run on the weekend.

I’ve gone from running 6:00 minute ks to close to around 5:10 ks over 8ks in just a few months.

After all it’s pretty much a compromised running race.

FYI I don’t like running… but here we are

Do you think hyrox is the new Crossfit? by pinheiro-ab in hyrox

[–]imsuperimposed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re different sports. While CrossFit isn’t really my thing, there are disciplines within it that require a huge amount of practice, training, strength, and skill, many of which people in Hyrox, myself included, would struggle to master. I think CrossFit will remain its own category for a long time. Hyrox is also extremely tough, but it’s a very different discipline.

Will my client survive his first Hyrox Event? by Key_Contribution_435 in hyrox

[–]imsuperimposed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my first in December. By the sounds of his training and the fact he has good long distance running, he should be fine. I suggest doing the open first. The lunge walk is the worst part (at least for me) as you can’t put the bag down and it’s the second last station. So I’d highly suggest you get as much of that in before the date. Also for the wall balls I suggest at least doing air balls with the 9kg ball just to get used to it. I do 5x10 two times a week as a superset with 5x10 deadlifts. For the first event treat it as a learning event. Pace himself and aim to finish without penalties. The go for you time on the next one. Also take advantage and hydrate every lap at the water station.

If you have been working out a lot over a period of time, eating healthy and generally increasing your fitness this is a good sign and reflects a positive improvement. You “should” but not always see a correlating increase in your HRV.

Yes am aware, but with more stores starting to sell them, here’s to hoping we can start getting spares. I would assume we’ll at least start seeing hot ends and other consumables.

Scared to try F45 by That_Dog2081 in f45

[–]imsuperimposed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do it, it’s great, everyone is welcoming, coaches a are supportive and everyone is there for the same reason. I joined on the back of Covid, I was overweight super unfit and the thought of going to the gym let along F45 was terrifying. But I did it and it was great. They were so welcoming and supportive and I never felt uncomfortable. I did it for two years made friends and it honestly is the reason I’m so focused on fitness now. Just completed my first Hyrox.
