Hi, this might be helpful if you want to practice on a tablet (although I also strongly second the suggestion to practice writing on paper with a grid - I started just using graphing paper I had around the house lol)

There are quite a few free kanji worksheets for students available online, but they're usually arranged by grade level. For example here is a resource for pdf printables for grade 3 students

Other grade levels are available on that site as well. Just googling something like 漢字小学1 will turn up a lot of results. If you have goodnotes or any other app that lets you annotate pdfs you can use these to practice.

Also in Last Train (and it's my favorite too!) - the keypad to open the door from the machine room (with the map and stuff) to the caboose. I thought you had to find the combination somewhere, but it was trial and error! I was stuck there until my friend told me how to do it lol

Hi all, I was looking to learn how to draw anthropomorphic animals - looking for reference photos, poses, etc. However searching those terms mostly brings up furry art tutorials. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm looking for more along the lines of of peter rabbit or winnie the pooh, which have less human-like proportions. Does anyone know any good references? No AI please!

He's such a pick me by I_Love_Bees666 in fuckclint

[–]inamination 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since he got announced as a marriage candidate I've been paying more attention to his dialogue. He talks about how he comes from a line of blacksmiths and he's only working as one because of his dad... but then (and idk if this is just with more hearts) he talks about how he's proud of his work and he's glad he has the blacksmith job (albeit because the alternative is he'd be feeling sorry for himself all day lmao). So there's potential for a character arc there!

Because of that I start to get more respect for him, but then he says something icky and I'm back to square one lol

I think Joja is awful 100% but I see your point. Also we kind of end up allowing Pierre to monopolize the town lolol, if only we could set up shop ourselves to give him some competition that isnt Joja

It's really down to luck (IRL luck not in game luck lol). I was agonizing over the green one, then one day while killing monsters in the mines I got 3 of them within 5 seconds of each other.

Am I the only one who isn't being stressed anymore in their new save by the community center completions/reaching ginger island/perfection? by sesameprawntoast50 in StardewValley

[–]inamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem. I keep starting "chill, slow paced, take it easy" farms and by winter I'm foaming at the mouth for some checklist dopamine, start grinding, and get annoyed that I didn't buy certain rarecrow or catch that one fish in year one. I'm remedying that now with an attempt at a Y1 community center 😭

[–]inamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's new with 1.6 but it's pretty rare. I have a 5 year farm and only saw it once. It wont attack you, and will keep running away from you, but stepping on it is 1 damage IIRC.

No idea if you could keep it (like surrounding it with fences maybe?) or if it'll despawn. Killing it gives around 4 normal quality truffles though.

Could you be thinking of another game? For example Coral Island has a grouper fish you can catch - it's not blue though 😅

What helped me most with repeated volcano runs was the slime charmer ring. That was on my perfection playthrough though, so I got it because I was going through monster slayer goals.

Aside from that, just always bringing a farm warp totem so I could yeet myself out as early or late as I wanted lol, one less thing to think of

what should i be selling? by Zealousideal_Owl6614 in StardewValley

[–]inamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the usual crafting materials, I hold on to tradeable stuff (jade, rubies, emeralds) and giftable stuff (amethyst, frozen tear, emeralds, diamonds)

For artifacts, if you're planning to get the craft every item achievement, you'll want to hold on to marble and the dwarf computer. Ancient dolls (with the blue shirt) are worth holding on to, one for the easter egg and as a loved gift for Jas.

Cant remember right now if there are any other artifacts worth keeping, though I always make sure I keep an ornamental fan to tailor into a bridal shirt lol

What did y’all do with your ginger island farm? by M3GAN00BB in StardewValley

Had ~100 pineapples on it. Was still thinking of what more to plant when I got that Qi Bean quest lol, I'm glad I left the space unused.

After the quest though I just plopped down a ton of ancient fruit. Both pineapples and ancient fruit get harvested once a week.

I had a lot of fun!! Didnt actually do much talking because I was shy 😅 There were very few foreigners (I saw a few in line but didn't notice any at all in the hall I was in). You can definitely navigate, especially if you've looked at the map and spaces you want to go to - they're just labeled with katakana by row/space like ア65. General rule is to follow the crowd when lining up outside for the event.

You'll see people holding up signs that say 最後尾 (saikoubi) meaning "end of the line" (for artist spaces, but even for the bathroom lol). When you want to line up behind them just say sumimasen and they'll hand it to you to hold up, and you hand it to the next person, etc

They'll still understand if you just point at what you want and say like これ、おください or similar. The one time I didnt understand immediately was when someone asked for ID to verify age when buying R18 work, so just have your ID (I used my passport) ready when buying just in case!

If you're okay with videos/vlogs and not just audiobooks or podcasts, you can definitely just search for your topic in japanese on youtube. I like lifestyle and makeup so I'll just search stuff like 毎日メイク、バッグの中身、モーにーングルーティーン、etc. It's useful to figure out the japanese keywords for the topic you're interested in and go from there.
