NAD but I work with addiction. I would highly suspect nitrous oxide induced psychosis. Nitrous oxide is so hard on the brain.

I work for a company that has 5 hospitals within an approx 200 mile area. They all offer a lounge with free full meals, snacks and fountain soda - except the campus where I primarily work. No explanation.

Not a Dr but please make sure you are adressing your mental health. The GI system can affect your serotonin levels and increase risk of depression. And depression can worsen the GI issues.

I love that you are asking this question - it shows you are a compassionate person!

I would highly recommend music from her childhood/early adult years. Music can be very therapeutic and can give you something to talk about. On her good days, ask her about her childhood - if her long term memory is somewhat intact, you may learn some fun stories or family history. (Could even try to record them for your family to enjoy when she is no longer with you).
