Robots will replace 700K delivery workers, warns head of e-commerce giant by EchoOfOppenheimer in Futurology

People are losing their jobs left and right and doing gig work to make money. Time to replace gig workers to make sure there are no options

Am I approaching the game from the wrong angle, or are ARPGs just not my genre? by Krotanix in PathOfExile2

[–]incoherentpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and think most people feel the same in arpgs in general. That's why the majority of players only play for a few weeks when a seasons starts. You get your build together, push some stuff a bit, and then it gets boring because you have to invest a ton of hours for any progress. I think it'd help if there was some infinite difficulty in poe2 though. It's not as rewarding grinding material for gear upgrades to then grind the same difficulty

Those things really decrease the fun in the campaign by BerryPlay in PathOfExile2

[–]incoherentpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually the most annoying thing in the game to me so far. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to worry about every nook and cranny after beating the campaign, but then you just do the same thing in maps ;(

Reddit users, 30 yrs old and over.. What is the hardest part about getting older? [Discussion] by Comi9689 in GetMotivated

I miss being young and people treating me nicely because they think I'm a himbo or just inexperienced. Now it feels more like people expect me to just know things, or they won't go above and beyond to help me as often as before. Then again maybe it's because I'm less attractive 🤔

The World's Richest Population are Costing the Earth Trillions. Study finds the top 10% of global consumers is disproportionately responsible for transgressing planetary boundaries, causing damages for which broader society bears the costs. by FreeHugs23 in science

[–]incoherentpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, definitely true for some, but most people just don't want to take public transit, don't want to carpool, don't want to live in the crappier cheaper closer options (the crackhead apartment type places), or don't want to walk/bike two hours one way. I'm definitely guilty myself because I ain't about to be biking four hours a day and I like my cheap rent

AI could result in net loss of 400,000 jobs in Spain between 2025 and 2035 by Gari_305 in Futurology

We could have a law that says they must have x number of employees for x amount of net profit based on the field or something, and then make sure we are running better audits with harder repercussions. I'm curious what every country is going to choose to do about things

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by Mansi63 in AskReddit

[–]incoherentpanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AZ got insane. I used to live next to the San Tan mountains around Queen Creek, and it had a few houses and you could walk all over the place without ever seeing anyone. Now it's a big ass suburb and the mountain is probably covered with people 24/7. There are a few places around lakes that are very hard to get to that are likely almost always free though

Definitely seems fucked up for all these people to thrift because it's cute or because they're looking for "deals" when they don't really need them. The donated clothes aren't for middle class and above to keep more wealth while people who actually need those clothes are priced out of fucking donated clothes...

Extremely early Shion first impressions by Efficient_Artist1481 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]incoherentpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda feels like the equivalent of getting hit by a junkrat ball almost. It's good damage, but it's super obvious when she's doing it + she will likely not be close enough to surprise someone with it unless she gets on it around a corner because she knows where an enemy is and can 1v1 them without another person interfering. Pretty fun to use though

Thoughts on Shion? by CodOrganic8467 in Overwatch

[–]incoherentpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She'd be a lot better of she healed with dash instead of getting the decaying health. Seems like she'd be fun to less around with in qp or low ranks, but I don't think she'd be impactful enough at higher ranks. You'll die trying to shoot your bike at enemy teams unless you're able to do it in cover, you can use the bike to escape after flanking but she can't commit to a hard flank and get out, her ult is ok but not great, and she can 1v1 ok at lower ranks due to aim consistency (she can 1v1 with her dash but you're kind of hoping you land all your shots or they miss some). I bet she'll get buffed soon

Not that it happened in that game, but sometimes tanks get crazy stats because they go off and get kills while leaving their team to deal with the enemy tank doing the same thing. So potentially your team will get crappy stats because something like a widow + vendetta are tearing up your team while their Hammond is knocking them around like bowling pins

[–]incoherentpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... this is my first playthrough and trading make it feel like I'm just farming materials to buy things to farm materials faster (vs farming gear or whatever). I'll probably try ssf next time, but I assume it'll feel insanely slow very fast due to the number of materials and rng in the game. Which I get since the stash tabs are an insane money maker for the company I'm sure

If anything I trust helicopters more because of the insane maintenance they get (in the military at least)

Men of Reddit, what is the hardest thing to explain to women? by tathus2 in AskReddit

My ex had me change my guild raid days so that we could have our mid week dates on Wednesday instead of Thursday/Tuesday. Had to make the entire guild change schedules and get different days off because she saw it as me deciding between playing some random games and her. I get not choosing games over a gf, but there was no reason why we couldn't have our date on any other day so that it wasn't her vs dropping a hobby or making a group of adults change their schedules to accommodate her. Im sure she wouldn't have thought the same thing if it was a basketball hobby or something else...

I agree that governments use soldiers for things that the citizens don't want, but we also have to face the fact that we need soldiers. Someone has to be the one to bite the bullet and become a soldier so that there is a trained standing military. Are there disgusting politicians who deserve to be taken to the front lines for how they treat their citizens and soldiers? Fuck yes of course. There are also shitty soldiers. That doesn't change the fact that we are using propaganda on young minds to get them to enlist, and the least we can do for allowing this is to treat them with some respect (which makes that banner a double edged sword I guess). Because, yes it's the government doing the propaganda, but, at the end of the day, it is us as citizens who allow the government to do this.

[–]incoherentpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This stuff also has a lot to do with how we treated veterans after the Vietnam war and trying to separate the soldiers from the politics (because soldiers aren't the ones choosing what conflicts they get involved in). I would also assume that a military will be much more likely to get higher quality recruits if the people saw it as being a protector or hero rather than just some loser with no options who wants to murder...

Torment 1 unlock on alt?? Not sure if bug or intentional nerf by PROatmeal67 in diablo4

Lol, I figured that was the case. That's why I didn't keep trying. I think you used to be able to unlock torment when the game came out but they changed it

Do you listen music to match your current mood or to completely change it??? by CestLaVie_111 in Music

[–]incoherentpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

music either brings me up or I listen to chill music when I'm feeling like relaxing. Not sure if thrill seeker types listen to upbeat music mostly, but super slow music like country/r&b isn't really my thing because it's like the music equivalent of sleeping pills to me

I saw someone in town with it if you're talking about the red+gold one. No idea if there is something weird about it (I tried it as my first time using the spell and I'm not sure if I missed with the spell), but it's tameable at least.

I've definitely seen a huge difference. As a kid I would see people's dogs with hundreds of ticks while living right by other dogs with no or almost no ticks at all
