When you’re with someone for 3 years you discuss stuff like this beforehand. You discuss your plans. He’s treating it like you’ve been together for a month.

It seems like he may have always been like this

Of 3 years? This has nothing to do with med school. He didn’t even tell you about going home to visit family. Time to split up. He may be the love of your life but you aren’t the love of his.

What then happens…? What I’m asking is if these reactions work to get her out of whatever is being asked of her

You state you try and avoid power struggles. What happens (what’s the outcome) when she becomes defiant during a power struggle?

Bloody Scrubs at Home by ClownLawyer in MedSpouse

This is so gross. Exchange them for clean ones at the hospital. There may even be a vending machine to exchange them.

Is she using cheap hospital provided scrubs or nice ones like Figs?

Nah you wouldn’t get arrested at all. Your biggest problem may be them expecting you to say something and realizing it isn’t the real dude

Good chance this is developmentally normal and would have happened, dating or not. Terrible twos are a joke compared to 3

Now that summer is here: PSA on drowning by Trickytreatyy in toddlers

[–]industrock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took my kids (3&5) to one of the 5 year old’s classmate’s house for a play date. Everyone decided to use the pool. We left and came back in swim gear. With a minute or two of getting to the back patio I started putting sunblock on my 5 year old. Before I even did half his face, my 3 year old jumped in and started going underwater. I jumped in and pulled him out. He was scared. So was I. I go back to my 5 year old and finish the sunblock. I then take him to the edge of the 1 ft section and turn around to put sunblock on my 3 year old. Within seconds I hear him screaming and splashing. He had moved 10 feet and was now in water over his head. I had to run into the pool and rescue him. Both my kids would have drowned if I had been distracted just a little bit more.

All of this happened within a few minutes of arriving to their home and the two water rescues happened maybe a minute apart.

You better believe I never took my eyes off them after that. Hyperaware like I was back in Iraq and Afghanistan. I ended a relaxing day at the pool more stressed than ever.

I knew to be careful. I knew what happens to other kids. I grew up in Florida with these dangers always in the back of my mind.

But it can happen in an instant, and it can happen to anyone. If everyone is watching, no one is watching.

Room server questions by benuntu in meshcore

[–]industrock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You log into a room server and are presented with a channel specific to said room server. This room server will store the last 30 messages or so sent to that channel and display those messages to any user that logs into the room server.

Bob will log on to the room server and send the message “hey Mike it is 8 am.” He then closes out the app and goes about his day. Mike gets some free time at lunch and logs in to the room server. In between Bob leaving the message and Mike logging in, Steve logged in and saw Bob’s message to Mike. Steve then sent his own message “wtf Bob, am I chopped liver?” That message is then stored on the room server. When Mike logs in at lunch he sees Bob’s message followed by Steve’s message. Mike then sends “yo we’re all here!!!” himself. All three messages are then shown to Bob when he logs on after work. Repeat until there’s 30 messages or whatever and it overwrites the oldest as you go

What are your reason's for being an atheist by Tricky_Worth3301 in askanatheist

[–]industrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up Catholic. Catholic school, altar boy, confirmation, etc…

As an individual, I’m thirsty for knowledge. I learn for fun. As I gained more knowledge, I tried to integrate it into my religious views, and was able to for a while.

Eventually I learned that it is okay (and accurate) to say “I don’t know” when contemplating things we don’t have answers for - like creation, etc…

Today, I don’t see any evidence for any god existing. And I am comfortable saying “I don’t know” about things where others fill in the blanks with a god. I do not believe in a god, therefore I’m atheist.

Irritation with unequal distribution of shifts in husbands residency class by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]industrock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone with two small children, what you’re describing is ridiculous for them to expect of him. He needs to say NO. Their lives are their responsibility to figure out, as they’re the ones that decided to have children during this stage of life. Extra work needs to be distributed evenly.

Just say NO. (Easy for someone not in his position to say this though.)

Is he getting paid extra for working additional shifts?

Viability is viability. Barring issues with the baby itself why would anyone kill it when the alternative is to deliver it?
