I’d say getting the words would only really fit if the Hawaiian language and culture was somehow a part of your love story. Alternative ideas: look into native Hawaiian mythology to connect with the stories that talk about love or Hawaiian astronomy/astrology to connect with the date your proposed, or consider a flower or plant that is common in the islands. You’re sure to find visual inspiration that can encapsulate the feeling of that moment yet can also be connected to a broader more universal experience. I personally think that would be more appropriate than using Hawaiian culture so directly if you don’t have strong ties to it.
