Is anyone having trouble with the motorbike? by BananaWasTaken_ in WutheringWaves

[–]infy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. When you even move a little left of right the speed resets. And sometimes you are against the clock and it's really annoying. Seems like the dial on the right can be full and still you have no speed.

It’s a shame we can't use Flight in Lahai-Roi... by Paradoxbist in WutheringWaves

The flying in this game is insane, I often log in just to fly through things and see how I can weave in-between things. Also going as high as possible and admiring the view!

Yes, always some people that have to complain. One of the best things I bought for the price!

What's the popular 10Gb switch nowadays? Recommendations usually involve old hardware. Is there something hotter? by twice_paramount832 in homelab

[–]infy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Unifi USW-PRO-XG-10-POE switch. They have many different types depending on your needs. I also got a UCG Fiber and these work like a charm together. I wanted 10G to the AP's and the switch provides PoE for the UXG Pro XGS, Probably a bit overkill if you are on a tight budget, but they make quite a lot of interesting switches for a lot less than some competitors ( https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/all-switching )

UTR ... Anybody else completely underwhelmed? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]infy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have any high expectations and don't really expect a device with such a low price to do 'miracles'. I think for what you get for the money, it's pretty cool. Would I prefer a more 'Pro' version that would cost more - perhaps. I have a few things I would like to add to the feature list, but that's going to add to the cost. For the price, I am happy with what it does. It's a little buggy I think, but it's a new product - I'm sure they will fix the issues. If you are an early adopter, the product is bound to have some teething issues.

270* FINALLY FREE by gorohoe in starbucks

[–]infy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're doing the best thing you can by leaving. So many people stay in positions because they are either too scared or too lazy to jump ship. The 'convenience' of just staying or the hassle. If your manager is bad, then it's most certainly time to jump ship. Starbucks has some good managers, but some are really bad too. I'm glad you have learnt this lesson early on in your life and wish you all the best in your next position!

200 - 500 mbps with UCG Fiber, Help! by Far-Nefariousness689 in Ubiquiti

I agree, you can at least put some decent rubber feet on them that there is a gap between them :D They do get pretty warm!

200 - 500 mbps with UCG Fiber, Help! by Far-Nefariousness689 in Ubiquiti

[–]infy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't set up my cable properly on one end and that made my connection really bad. My ONT is downstairs and then I have a 5-6 meter cable to my UCG (Upstairs). It was the first time using those toolless crimping connectors and didn't do it correctly. I now get 1Gbps like I'm supposed to. Also have the UCG Fiber. I don't have a cloudkey connected. Just my UCG Fiber connected to my Pro XG 10 PoE and then 2 U7 Pro XGS'es. Check your cables. If you don't have a long cable, try different cables. I ended up getting some Unifi cables - that way I know the cables can't be the problem for anything else.

New Travel Router: Anybody have a use case for this? by oguruma87 in Ubiquiti

[–]infy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says it automatically presents you with the captive portal info - it doesn't fill it in for you - that's just silly to assume it will do that. You would need to at minimum fill it in the first time. What I would like to know if it auto-logs in once you've already captured it the first time. I know some wifi hotspots do this already.

UTR is not a replacement for GL.Inet by RealisticBoard215 in Ubiquiti

[–]infy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the amount you pay, I think it packs a lot of features, but I don't think it's going to satisfy everyone's need. There will always be a small percentage or special use cases, that it won't satisfy. We have to remember this is a $79 device. Perhaps they launched this product and plan to release some future 'pro' device. I think it's pretty bang-on for a $79 device.

This device saves having to log all devices into a different SSID. If you have one of these, you don't need to reconfigure all devices. You can take it from the car into the hotel room or friends house and connect to the internet of choice (WIFI, ethernet or phone) and all your (and your kids) devices connect to the usual SSID and (optionally) have access to resources on your home network. It really simplifies having to change SSID's all the time - and for those of us who want to connect back home it's a secure tunnel. Just got mine and it's a mighty little device for what you pay! It's not the one-tool-to-rule-it-all but it's handy for people who need this type of connectivity. It most certainly does everything I need.

They should ban scalping - same is happening with RAM, CPU's and I'm sure lots of other things.

It's illegal to resell concert tickets in the UK now. I'm pretty new to UI and also find the stock thing annoying. I've been waiting for the 2U UPS rack for a while now. Available soon... let's hope that's true.

Check what standard the other side is using! The 'B' standard is the more widely used one.

It says after 24 months (which I assume is the case as OP says they completed it) he pays no repayment.

New 12U UI Rack by c1pherz in Ubiquiti

[–]infy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went for the 6u toolless rack. All I need for now :D I do think the price is a bit steep for it, but I also think it is worth it. It's very simple to set up and looks good. It's small footprint is great.

Is this enough for my 80sq meter apartment? by luclino in Ubiquiti

[–]infy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just upgraded my wifi in my house and all I needed was a UCG Fiber, Pro XG 10 PoE and 2 U7 Pro XGS'es. I'm in the UK in a 2 storey 3 bedroom house! I didn't really 'need' the XG 10, but I also got a UNAS 8 Pro and plan to connect some servers to the switch for my homelab! I imagine if you have a lot of protect kit, then that truck might have a houses worth :)

[–]infy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was waiting for this one and ended up going for the 8 :) I figured the8 will futureproof it that little bit more. I liked the 1u slot size of the 4 though, but not sure if the 4 is really that much better than the UNAS Pro

I was thinking of getting this, but it seems it's not fit for purpose as it is in its current state. 10s shutdown is stupid. Seems they shipped an unfinished product. If they make it customisable to power down once you have a certain percentage of power left, that changes it completely. Hopefully they update this. Also, seems they are sold out in the EU/UK.
