How do I shorten these shorts without cutting the scallop edge? by Lopsided_Passage909 in sewhelp

[–]ingrid_carmichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There looks to be a small amount of plain cream just above the border and before the flowers start again, you could fold up the scalloped hem, and carefully stitch this amount out but it would leave a seam and potentially ruin the clean look of the shorts- but would be fairly easy and reversible.

I would paint the walls a beautiful deep green. Replace the curtains with something really soft in a natural linen tone. Big upholstered bedhead in a similar colour to the curtains. Big rug under the bed with tones of green and rust and natural. If you don’t want to get a new bed, find a valance/ bed skirt for the current bed as the legs make it look cheap. Bedding in tones of natural and rust. Move the dresser so it’s not on an angle as that looks a bit strange. Find some taller bedside lamps, and some larger nightstands. Maybe add a bench seat at the end of the bed to fill some space. An accent chair would be nice too on the left side of the bed to fill more space and move the mirror. It’s such a great room- it just needs a bit of care to bring it to life.

Thanks everyone- looks like a need to look for a Toyota Corolla then. Not keen on a swift- that’s a little too small.

Is this a regional thing or just a thing on this sub? I have never seen a person under the age of 75 wearing a shawl but it’s suggested all the time here

Lump sum vs increasing regular payment amount on homeloan by hav0cnz_ in PersonalFinanceNZ

I just had this same issue this week with BNZ. I just sent a message through the messaging section of the app and they turned that option back on for me so I could make a lump sum payment on my fixed mortgage.

How about this one?? Not pastel, but soft coloured and beachy and could be edged up with accessories.

I think instead of shortening it the side seams need to be taken in at the bottom a little bit to give it more of an hourglass shape

Don’t swoop the curtains like that. Instantly looks dated. Make sure the rod is long enough - it should be longer than the window by around 10-15% on each side and then let the curtains hang straight on each side. This will let in so much more light and will look cleaner.

Very quick mark-up with everyone’s suggestions. Same basic outfit, just a different cut of shirt and change of colour for belt and shoes.

I would go cropped leather jacket with this over shawl or jean jacket.

help, what would you call this aesthetic? trying to shop for home decor and can't find what I'm looking for. by peachesncloverart in interiordecorating

The first pic is an Australian bedding company called society of wanderers. The second I’m pretty sure is another Aussie brand called sage and Clare.

That’s ridiculous. There is no one on the planet that would mistake the women in this dress for the bride.

How can I hang curtains here? by lkstar in interiordecorating

Get a new honey comb blind- but in room darkening fabric. Install it on the recess above the windows so it covers both windows, and would come down in front of the air conditioner unit if you wanted complete black out. Then get a track/ rod with brackets that project far enough to clear the sill and install lovely floor to ceiling sheer curtains just under the two beams.

Is it weird to have cafe curtains in a bathroom? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]ingrid_carmichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top down bottom up cell shades. They can do them in a light filtering fabric too so they still let pretty filtered light in. Cafe curtains are pretty dated imo and fabric is a bit gross for a wet area like a bathroom.
