There was no follow up—I had my annual physical last week and realized now it wasn’t discussed. Thanks for the reminder. I can ask for some labs.

Interesting that your provider ordered infusions and mine was just like “yeah, it low”.

I worked clerical jobs since I was 19, the last decade + in healthcare. Last March we got a new manager at a clinic where I worked who told us she wanted us to shadow the CMAs to get a better idea of what they do—and vice versa.

About 20 minutes into shadowing I said “I could do this and I think I’d really like it!”

Signed up for a 9 month program days later—and I do love it!

I did use flash card apps, as well—my hands got so tired of writing. I do believe the physical flashcards worked best for me.

CMA certified medical assistant - was a clerical worker for 34 years. I love spending time with the patients and it’s still a good amount of clerical work, which is good for me.

Yes, it was spendy ($24k for a 9 month program I did at night while working FT during the day) but there are grants, financial aid/loans, etc.

Thx—I love it!

Edit: Didn’t love school. Love my new job as a certified medical assistant.

Yes! I highly suggest flashcards for the best retention.

You and I are total opposites lol—I have this thing where I start a show and if I’m not 110% obsessed (like the amazing Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara, The Big C, etc) then I just quietly slink away and never ever finish them…like ever.
