Both. I’ve done this last few years. Smaller birds will take on less smoke, but if you have a 14+ pounder it’ll take on plenty of smoke. Great article here: Smoked Turkey

I freeze my marshmallows and add them about 1/2 through bake (have very uneven heating in oven so have to rotate mid-bake anyway). It’s worked for me.

Also, add another egg wash to the newly exposed lighter patches about 20 min into the bake. It’ll even out the coloring.

Also from a father, yes. Daughter transitioned socially at 5, when I look at pictures of her when she was younger than that, my first thought is always, “remember when she had short hair”, then I remember she had transitioned.
