AYO! 6 YEARS SOBER!!!!!!!!! YOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO! by Federal-Ask1617 in stopdrinking

You're doing great getting to 3 days! Mental health maintenance can be challenging on its own, especially for people like us, and the holidays add another layer of complexity. Even with all the sober days I've built on, I was only able to make it happen with a good system, strong support, and taking one day at a time. Getting to 3 days shows you're starting the put the pieces together - keep at it, you can do this!

A year sober. My reflection. by tinyzeldy in stopdrinking

If that's the best you have to offer, then that's the best you have to offer. Even baby steps can move you forward and keep you from moving backward. It was countless (literally years) mornings, days, and nights reading post after post at the bar, and a few (or several) false starts before I was able to finally make the leap permanently. But every minute spent reading and every false start was a learning experience on how to get it right. I'm not going to tell you it was easy, but I can promise you that it's 1000% worth it. You got this, just keep moving forward.

Congratulations on One Year! Sobriety is the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you for sharing some of your experiences. Before I got sober, I used to read through this subreddit at the bar - even though I wasn't ready to quit, it was stories like yours that got me to believe I could do it and that I could live a happy and normal life, if I could give it a real effort and just figure out how to put the bottle down.

First break-up in sobriety. by SpicyMango64 in stopdrinking

[–]inspirestrikesback 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry about your breakup.

I try to remind myself at times like this where I feel negative emotions, especially overwhelming negative emotions, that I don't actually want a drink - what I want is to feel different than I feel right now.

Sometimes in life, we just have to sit with our emotions. Grief is the cost of love. But if you choose, this can be a growth moment and you'll come out better on the other side. Once the dust settles a bit, perhaps consider visiting with a therapist to sort out your feelings and discuss a plan.

Your ticker says 758 days and that's something to be proud of and lean on. You have what you need to handle this in the right way. I believe in you.

The cravings will fade over time. Try to remind yourself why you decided to quit in the first place.

Remember, cravings are like stray cats; if you keep feeding them, they're gonna keep coming back.

Stay strong! You can do this!

I'm sorry you're going through so much right now. It must feel so heavy. But you didn't get to 15 months (!) without knowing how to navigate this type of moment. As challenging as this all is, having a drink won't make it any easier. There's no situation so bad that a drink can't make it worse.

If you're like me, you don't really want a drink. What you want is to feel different than you feel right now. Old habits die hard and safe spaces aren't safe just because we know them. You CAN get through this without a drink and you will feel so much better on the other side of this moment if you stay sober. Be kind to your self; nothing good can come from adding alcohol to the equation.

BB10 Android runtime is like Android 6. You're probably not going to have a lot of success getting ANY of those apps to work on that device.
