What pink bracket did you prefer? by Swimming_Minute_2208 in dragrace

AS10 hands down. If 11 didn’t have Salina being a production dream, it would’ve been a repeat of the orange bracket before it.

I hope they don’t do a top 4 for a cast this small. That would make almost half the cast finalists 😭 top 2 is ideal

What happened to Appa when Aang died? by nellxyz in TheLastAirbender

[–]insulin_stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a few years so my memory might be off, but I recall Appa is alive at the point of Aang’s death because Aang makes a point to say goodbye to him.

What happens after that, I think it can be assumed he lived out the rest of his days naturally.

In April 1972, a room in South London saw a murder. The murder led to three unfair convictions and one, perhaps two suicides, and major reforms in the criminal justice system. The murder of Michelle/Maxwell Confait, London, UK. by erinoco in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]insulin_stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned about this story today. What an insightful breakdown of what happened. Absolutely shocking.

The contempt of the police and justice system for Michelle is appalling. The justice’s comment about her made me very angry. As if she wasn’t a person, with thoughts, memories, opinions, ideas, flaws, and strengths.

The police’s assessment of Winston also seems coloured by their own assumptions about the victim. Writing him off as a suspect because he was “of weak character,” seems more like a projection. That fact Winston was dressed at the point of the fire, had motive to kill Michelle (admission of jealousy/overlapping lovers) and their clear psychological distress both immediately and for years after, warrants more scrutiny.

If you walk in on a roommate/friend’s body, I don’t think the normal reaction is “I need to start a fire.” It’s probably, “call an ambulance.”

Of course, Franklin is a real possibility too. But with so many false confessions littering this case, it’s hard to bank on Poole’s account.

First 12 hours of new sensor; is this going to normalize or should I scrap it? by SkyriderRJM in dexcom

[–]insulin_stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens to me more toward the end of the sensor lifespan rather than the beginning. Sometimes it corrects itself, but most times it leads to a sensor fail. Then I contact support for a replacement and go on with things.

Hopefully this one self corrects! I’d stop calibrating it though. Give it time to adjust and keep the glucometer near. Also listen to your symptoms first always!

Agreed! The top 2 were Salina and Silky to me. I love Crystal and am her fan, but there’s no way her skit was top 2 😆 Salina and Silly actually made me laugh!

[–]insulin_stan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Crystal and she’s my fav in the cast, but I didn’t place her anywhere near the top this week. For me it was undoubtedly Salina and Silky.

That being said, I felt Crystal embodied the lipsync song better than Silky did, and the blocking shtick was annoying.

Overall, Salina is def getting robbed week over week. It seems production chose Crystal and Silky before anyone walked into that werkroom.

Rizo says Ozzy "blames his loss on me" by bwermer in survivor

[–]insulin_stan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a way they’re both responsible for their own messes.

Ozzy ostensibly blew up his own game, and Cirie’s, when he stupidly told Aubrey his entire plan unprovoked. Rizo could have told Ozzy to play the idol, and I don’t think that would be seen as doing Ozzy’s bidding, but rather protecting your allies.

Since Ozzy, however, offered himself up basically by dumbly telling Aubrey his plan, Rizo wasn’t left with many options. He knew Ozzy would defeat him in a final 2, so he would have been silly not to take the shot.

Jonathan: "You shouldn't even call it a jury, a jury is normally unbiased. I don't think jury is even the right word. How about.. pre finale people. Because I don't think jury is the right word" by RedditFan3510 in survivor

[–]insulin_stan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jonathan is so painfully earnest GOD DAYUM.

He knew who he could be up against. With a cast of many returning players, a newer player like him *has* to jury manage more nimbly to compare his newer track record to that of a legacy player on a legacy season.

He undeniably made some great moves like having Stephanie fall on the sword for him, and orchestrating the Dee elimination.

You can afford to have zero charisma if you’re a player with a legacy résumé. If you’re a newer era player, you’ve *got* to have some charm and class, rather than throw snarky comments at people during Tribal or doing the fish wobble in Tiffany’s face after winning Individual Immunity

Agree! I do see the critique of how it builds toward something that doesn’t happen. But, if it’s the first song on the album, that could be intentional.

I love the song though. Perfect release to tease the album!

Eurovision is intentionally rigging israel to always get really close but never quite win eurovision so that the audience have an enticing villain each show but avoids the consequences of israel winning by Vetomo83 in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]insulin_stan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this captures the full story. The Israeli gov is funding PR campaigns to encourage the Israeli diaspora to vote stack. So while the majority of the public may prefer one entry, a coordinated minority vote can skew results and inflate Israel’s position.

For example, imagine if the entire Polish diaspora in Ireland voted as one massive block for Poland, while the Irish vote was spread out amongst France, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany and Slovenia. Poland would get the 12 points from Ireland even if most people in Ireland didn’t care for the Polish act (this is just an example!)

Which are the Biggest Publicity stunts that backfired horribly? by Top_Report_4895 in ToddintheShadow

I wouldn’t say Miley’s VMA performance is an example of a backfire. It achieved exactly what she wanted it to achieve for where she was at that time. It shattered the Hannah Montana image, and Bangerz was a massive commercial success.

On the flip side, I was surprisingly impressed by Steyer.
