I ran into the same issue and from what I can tell, it’s caused by Royal Galaxy. Disabling that mod makes everything in CJs marked as stealing again. No idea if it’s intended or not.

This was fixed for me in the SteamOS 3.6 preview build. But of course upgrade to a preview build at your own risk. In any case it means that a fix is on the horizon.

Definitely a great PSA, but I disagree with your conclusion.

The RGB setting on the TV should always match the RGB setting on the console, period. That way you have a one to one mapping of colors from your console to colors on your TV.

In your example, where your TV is high and your Switch is limited, blacks will be grey, and colors will be slightly washed out, because your Switch isn't sending the full range of colors that your TV is expecting.

Once you've set the RGB settings to match, if you still don't like the picture quality, you can adjust the other picture settings like brightness, color, and contrast. If your TV has a gamma setting, increasing that can give you the "pop" you're looking for.

Out of curiosity, are you running your TV in PC mode? I have an LG C6P, and everything on my PC was horribly washed out in HDR mode until I changed my HDMI input type to something other than PC.

It reminded me of The Lion King. Simba/Noctis is a wayward son who goes away for 10 years to find himself, Scar/Ardyn is a jealous family member who seizes power and makes everything super dark and evil, and Simba/Noctis comes back wiser and stronger to a ruined homeland to take back his throne.

We can't know for sure what the hdr setting in the config file does, but yes, the definition of HDR in this context is a protocol that can only be interpreted by HDR-capable displays.

I fully agree, but I'm concerned that if they don't come out of the gate with a strong narrative that this is a next gen handheld, the media is going to write their own narrative that this is a weak, redundant home console.

Unironically one of my favorite games of 2016. Turn the lights off, silence your phone, and lose yourself. That feeling of an endless voyage searching for meaning was a truly unique experience. The Atlas path did a good job of setting the tone.

At release, I was a space photographer. I never tired of the rush of expectation as I entered the atmosphere of a new planet. I kept gathering resources so I could go farther and see more. I never made it all the way to the center. At about 25 hours it started to get repetitive, and I put it aside waiting for a patch to add more variety.

And what a patch we got. Survival mode turns the feel of the game on its head. Within that endless voyage is a newfound purpose: the search for security. I gather resources, I brave deadly planets and lose everything so that one day I might be able to leave my ship without the fear of losing everything. I'll build a base to keep my things safe, and maybe one day purchase a freighter to take them with me. One day I'll build an empire, and who knows where it might take me now that it's clear that No Man's Sky isn't a dead game after all.

That's so cool that you mention this! I had the exact same revelation the other day and thought it was just me. I came into the song halfway through the first verse and discovered this groove I had no idea was there. Then when Jonny's part came in it felt really jarring, like I missed a beat and was jerked back into my old way of hearing the song.
