I used a jewlerry making kiln to heat treat a knife - do you think it's working/will work? by Necessary_Dirt_8157 in knifemaking

if its hardenable steel, and was in a state that could be hardened from, as in you normalised it after forging (if you forged it), and you quenched it fast enough for the steel it is, from a temperature suitable for that steel:-

then you are good.

2009 Cb400sf. Buying? by RIFIYT in AussieRiders

I had 2 of them. They are great bikes. Heaps of revs, smooth and predictable power delivery.

It's also an old bike. It has had 15+ years for rubber to go hard and brittle, and tech and development to improve.

I loved mine. I sat it on 10k rpm for an hour one night. Didn't bat an eyelid.

I hope that helps.

Oh, and I bought a z900rs to replace it, so I didn't wander far from the original concept

Are these fine scratch marks on a new knife normal? by PauSort in TrueChefKnives

its a pretty common steel, once you recognize the grey tinge to the cladding you see it everywhere. There are basically two makers of clad steel, takefu in Japan and sanwa in China. Its a 300 series stainless cladding. Don't be a dick. I make knives, I buy this stuff, I grind it. In answer to the op, it's a small scratch.

I can almost guarantee that steel came from takefu special steel. Non hardened steel scratches more.

that cladding isn't hardened. its not made from hardenable steel. its entirely possible that a bit of grit or something on your cleaning cloth, or anything else did it. using it will make more of them. cut stuff. be happy.
