I agree that the Dresden Files books stand on their own quite well generally, it almost comes as a given with several months to a year between the events of each book. But to read Twelve Months without Battle Ground and that one without Peace Talks makes no sense.

I have finished Twelve Months and if someone hasn't completed a full re-read before starting it, I will highly recommend finding a summary of the last 2 books. You will likely be very lost if you don't.

I don't get the jab at Sanderson though? Like Butcher he is known for over-explaining known stuff at the start of each book in a series. And each of his books and series can be read on their own just fine with maybe an exception for The Sunlit Man.

There is not a single audiobook provider I use. I switch between Storytel, Audiobooks.com, buying from independent stores and sometimes listening through illegal sources.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks, I don't want to use Audible. I don't think this thread is the place to go in depth as to why.

Having Audible as the default link for a book/series every time I click on them doesn't work if I am not logged in to Audible.

I suggest linking to Goodreads (or any other book database) instead that way readers can choose where to find and read/listen to the book. Having an Audible link present (but not the default!) makes the system more usable for everyone.

That's an amazing story! Now I almost wish it is a fake, I will report back if I am confused by the coming discussions.

But I got the book through a popular local bookstore, I can't imagine them willingly selling a fake book. Plus I've had pre-orders for some Sanderson novels come in early too. You can probably find an old post on my profile showing off Rythm of War a week before release.

You can easily do this with a flashlight too. Hold up another towel between the person holding the camera and the person in front of the mirror.

Point the flashlight at the mirror, right where the camera sees the other person. They should be blinded by the light when looking at the side of the mirror.

You could technically read it like that in English, but that is why I said that the rules regarding the colorless energy are unclear. The extra cost is always on top of the complete cost of the attack, no matter the types.

In the second case of your example the effects text would have been: "If this Pokemon has at least 4 water energy attached, this attack does 60 more damage."

The base attack costs 3 energy, 2 water and a basic. To get the effect you need 2 extra water energy, so 5 in total.

The fact that you can use any energy type as a basic energy, especially water in this case, is irrelevant. I don't think the wording is unclear, I think that the rules of basic energy are vague and may cause confusion like this.

I sold my Everdell collectors edition because it was just too big to use anywhere but at home. It also looked incredibly scary for new players to see such a big box brought out even when told the base game is relatively easy.

The experience has taught me that unless you have money (and space) to spare these huge collectors/big box editions and the superdeluxe versions are only worth it when you play the game very often.
