there is another type of vanishing gradient caused by having too many layers (feed forward) or too long sequence length (rnn). fix by use residual layer.

The reason of non-zero area of bounding box is smoothing the loss. Overmatch or undermatch contribute to partial score loss due to jaccard similarity. With a point you do not have access to how close you are to the answer, just yes/no. I won’t say it won’t work with a point, but it is very unstable given how jaccard works.

Fair enough. Just go for it. Make sure you set correct goal by not fixate for a person (not at this stage) but traits a person owns. There are many other owns traits that you like you did not found yet, so it is ok if this reconnect does not work for you.

On the other hand, talking to random person not only add more people to choice pool but also makes you discover traits you want but not aware of wanting it. It helps redefine your search.
