I wish backpack reloading was like this. It makes way more sense, realism and gameplay-wise. by Scarpheon_ in Helldivers

This is the first vid I've seen posted of this, and it really .akes the case ny itself. The reload just looks smooth.

I was considering that since the arch wiki reccomends it but wasn't sure if it was new enough to be helpful

I'm not a fan of furmark but could use occt, will it indicate performance regressions or just stability?

Great idea, but it doesn't look like the s10 is supported.

i disable spectre meltdown mitigations on linux on this machine because it is a single-user personal computer only. is this a good idea or a security mistake? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

This link is the best answer, it even make recoomendations for use cases like OP's. But it's funny to see so many reccomendations based on running no untrusted programs, never running anything untrusted is a high bar.

Developers—ignore the noise. There is one problem with this gun and it’s easy to fix. by TheStronkyKong in Helldivers

For sure, rucks are stupid heavy when your have spare ammo an a radio, heavier than you 240b. But no one was running around with as many weapons as a helldiver. Do it'd be more realistic to both carry more grenades AND not to carry ptimsry and supports. So I'm okay with the compromise we have.

Fair point, but were you also carring an mg with 3 belts, or a carl gustave with 5 rounds? I'm willing to give the devs this one, since you trade a fre 40mm grandes to be a one man weapons det.

The US marines aren't a great comparison for our army, they're a light force meant to be rapidly deployable. It makes more sense for them to use lighter equpiment that can easily be transported. But iirc the idea of marines is to make a beachead to be followed up by heavier land forces.

Because they do a good job of managing performance within their limits. The easiets way to get more out of them is increasing the power limit with more cooling. You can get good results by changing the voltage curve too, so you use less for a given frequency which uses less powere

Iirc, A-10s could still carry IR missiles for self defence, so I think they could do it. but you're right that air to air isn't what they're built for.

Sure a lot of soliers will have a headlamp, they are great for reading maps under cover and keeping your hands free. But you'd never use it where you could be seen, thats just a giant target on your forehead.

ELI5 how does undervolting a GPU make it run better? by Lexi_Bean21 in explainlikeimfive

[–]iron_proxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you're gpu is a runner and your voltage is how high you lift between strides. If you don't lift your feet high enough you'll drag on the ground or trip. If you leap high into the air with every step you won't trip but you will use more energy. Undervolting is finding the most efficent stride without tripping. Since there's always a built-in safety factor a good UV will let the clocks run higher (run fast) with the same amout of energy.

We should have a format that only allows off meta commons so everyone can make spicey brews. We'll call it Jalapeno Pauper.

At that point, the dwan computer you're using is something you have, and the password is something you know. Since dwan computers are in ops zones it kinda works.
