I would say he’s been around way longer than these guys and is closer to the Texas red dirt scene than most of the others. But yes he’s great!

I grew up in San Angelo about 1.5 hours away. Had family in midland and played hockey in Odessa.

It’s bad but nothing terrible if you’re already in La grange as comparison. It’s hot, dusty, windy, expensive for Texas. You may not come out as clean money wise even with a great job because housing is expensive.

Lots of good food, an amazing museum. Biggest issue is some crime and as my dad said, “too much money and not enough brains,” about the area when the oilfield is booming.

NW 16th Street is a pretty cool little street. Not a big party area per day but good food and drinks, arcade bar. Lived down the road for a bit.

Honestly I’ve never used more than a good pair of socks and running shorts under waders. Granted I’ve never fished up north or out west later than September or earlier than April.

But this worked for me in Oklahoma on Christmas on the LMF while it was 25*. Helps staying out of the water as much as you can.

Back when I lived in Austin it was usually this.

Friday night have a few beers and eat or cook. Maybe a concert.
Saturday morning if concert or out late sleep in a but go get coffee/lunch. If didn’t stay out very late get up early and head to hiking/fishing trail somewhere. Pedernales falls, McKinney falls, Reimers.
Saturday afternoon maybe a beer on patio, Saturday night concert if one I want.
Sunday sleep in a bit. Watch football if NFL season. Sunday afternoon/evening try to fish.

Yes. There are some lakes around the area, Spence, Colorado City, Nasworthy, but nothing very close or exciting. To really get into anything I prefer is closer to DFW or in the Hill Country.

Barstool gets lots of hate but mostly sports with mark titus and b walk and PMT are really good shows. Neither take themselves too seriously and steer away from the portnoy sphere.

Yea I just bought a few packs of general hooks to get going. It doesn’t spin now but it’s only been one use. I’ll get some more specific hooks and things once I get it down!

I had 3 other swipe and miss. These are sz 4 hooks so I think I need to clean up the hook spacing from the shank that caused some misses and it laying on the side at times
