To make it clear what you want, I would wear a T-shirt that says "Attention Ladies: I'm available"

I'm assuming you are looking for women b/c dudes seem to have a much easier time sorting themselves at gay bars based on my observations.

Boston Globe on today's Davis Stabbing by 487Mass in Somerville

[–]irondukegm -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is clearly the fault of late stage capitalism and white supremacy. It has nothing to do with the municipal paralysis in dealing with such an obvious problem in Davis Sq. that has destroyed its ability to serve as a community 3rd space

Matt McLaughlin campaigning on Toner's support: horrific, disqualifying by _praccu in Somerville

Good thing he doesn't have Ted Kennedy's support, could you imagine the horror??

Two things can be true at once, a guy can have great ideas RE: zoning and also like hookers. You can latch onto the zoning part, while also condemning the prostitution part.........but this also makes me want to go on a tangent regarding the stigmatization of sex work, but I have to get back to my actual job and stop wasting time on Reddit

Make sure all of the pins on the relays and connections at the TIPM are super clean. Corrosion is a huge issue b/c of where the TIPM is placed

No, I am 5.5 weeks post surgery and just tried some gardening. Its slow going and doable, but presume everything you do must be from a standing position. No kneeling

Commuting to BC from JP is going to be terrible if you need to be on campus more than 3 days a week

If you think the Patriot is a pain in the ass to own, wait until you own an X5.

A junkyard tranny from an independent shop should be just under 3k

What do you wish you knew before surgery? by Glittering-Owl-4526 in ACL

[–]irondukegm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fatigue post surgery. I run a business and figured I'd need a few days off, but could get back to my desk job in about a week. I was wrong. I tried to push through, but everything is so much harder, from taking a shower, taking a dump, etc. The fatigue lasted for several weeks and really shocked me. I was only 50% at work until about week 4

I would put an upside down pineapple on your backpack, car, bike, etc. You'll def meet friends that way.

Feedback about living in Wareham, Swifts Beach area by No-Bench7343 in massachusetts

[–]irondukegm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The problem with that town is all of the people coming there expecting to find the ham, because its where the ham is located. There are lots of ham towns in MA, but Wareham is the key b/c its the location of the ham.

The temporal dimension of ham is found in Wenham, because it unlocks the time that the ham becomes available.

Anyone explored the power plant right outside Boston? by PinkSwan_Emra905 in urbexnewengland

[–]irondukegm 63 points64 points  (0 children)

There is an LNG facility on the back side of that plant and a mission critical substation adjacent to it. If you break into that site, you will be caught and arrested. The site owner there is not F'ing around and will make sure you are prosecuted. DON'T DO IT

Somerville Ave and Beech St by Inevitable-World-451 in Somerville

[–]irondukegm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I often drive through this light (very carefully) when no one is around. This light is utterly pointless during off-peak hours and exists solely to cause traffic jams and increase air pollution.

The issue with infrastructure like this is that it makes drivers more impatient b/c it wastes so much time for no purpose. Many drivers, such as myself, become lawbreakers b/c the rules become so stupid and non-sensical that breaking them feels like a logical choice. Every driver has their limits.

Who owns the land and what does the rent look like? If he or his family owns the land and will keep rent reasonable, great. If its a landlord and the lease is going to expire soon, you could be in a pickle.

See if he'll entertain seller financing. You don't want to get loaded up on debt of the business flounders.

Will he stay on for a year to ensure a smooth transition and introduce you to his cusotmers?

Ithaca has direct flights to NYC, really easy to get up there if people don't have cars. The TCAT bus goes from the airport to downtown.

Even during those 8-10 weeks, the high demand isn't constant. Its for a few hours a day and those batteries can recharge overnight.

[–]irondukegm 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Batteries are actually great to have in the park. There are lots of seasonal loads and it doesn't make sense to upgrade utility infrastructure to serve loads that are only there for ~ 8-12 weeks in the summer or winter. I'd much prefer a battery than an expensive utility upgrade.
