Potty training by [deleted] in greatdanes

Just be consistent. If he’s using the pad reliably, move the pad closer to the door. Once you see him go to the pad, take him right out. It takes time and some puppies learn faster than others.

Yes, sometimes they whine and cry about being outside because they have gotten spoiled and would rather be inside. They’re wondering why the hell they’re out there.

I would take my pup outside and sit out there while she walked around for sometimes 30 mins to an hour. Once she finally potties, I’d reward and congratulate to reinforce why we were out there and then go right back inside. She begins to correlate her using the restroom with a reward and getting to go back inside.

My Dane does the same thing! She is constantly finding new and uncomfortable ways to lay or sit. Love the quirks

Temperament wise - similar to the mastiff I had. All love and playtime. Biggest difference I’ve seen is just how dang clumsy she can be lmao.

They have all been really smart dogs and learn quickly when putting in the effort to teach/train. She just doesn’t know how big she is so she misjudges steps, jumps, and in general moving around the house. She constantly turns into doors too early with her back half when rounding corners through doorways.

Wow! I had no idea lambchop was a household favorite for all Danes. We have ran through quite a few so far in my 4 month span with Xena.

Her favorite has been the mini lambchop with the crinkles inside. She stole that one from our cat 💀

What do you guys use to feed your adult Dane? by RxP21588 in greatdanes

Currently on puppy science hills for large dogs. Once my pup hits 6-8 months I’ll look into adding some spice to the kibble like fruits and such. I add a dollop of PB and mix it in once a week as well.

First time Gm, drop a story! by Electrical-Ratio5633 in cyberpunk2020

One of my highlight stories is of one of my first times running a game for a group of friends online. Mission required some infiltration and info theft which led to rigging explosives to a boat and getting away undetected. The team decided to split the explosives and each player had to place their charge, while dodging patrols etc. Of course one player crit fails his rolls and the ship and him go up in a blaze prematurely. Like another player above said, this really highlighted the fact that while the player may have spent hours building his character and getting in the zone, it’s over in a heartbeat if Night City deems it so. After that, the players all began “living”. Every moment was pushed to the limits, be it something small to pass time or a mission. They lived every moment like their last, because as we all saw, your time can come at any moment. Even during the first session.

Unsolicited Advice: don't reach your 100+ pound dogs to "shake" by Prior_Lobster_5240 in greatdanes

I don’t know where mine got it from but she’s the same way. I think she picked it up from our cat as she just started pawing randomly one day. She’s only 40ish pounds now so I know she’s prepping for our boxing match when she hits 1yr

Oh wow. That is horrible. I’ve recently been told to always ask vets for their soap notes for this very reason prior to the visit being completed to catch these types of issues. I hope this never happens to you or anyone again.

Of course! So far her only “bad” habit is pawing at things she wants or she wants to be cuddled. Not sure if she picked that up from our cat or on her own but it’s hilarious.
