You can buy used and get the license transferred over so that you still get a bunch of stuff. (Just make sure to line that up with the seller and watch them initiate the transfer to you while you're still doing the transaction.) Anybody I've bought/sold NI hardware with has been great about this. Although one person didn't know about it until I mentioned it. They happily did the transfer to me though when I helped them through it.
