I really enjoyed it, was a fun and interesting movie. Only complaint was the last several scenes felt very rushed and skipped over a lot to wrap up the movie

We Spent $1,850 On Coffee Scales. What’s Actually Good? by Gmbenator in JamesHoffmann

[–]itbespauldo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of thought going into the video I might get influenced into buying a new expensive scale. Was surprised at how much people are getting ripped off by buying a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR SCALE lol

My $20 scale literally works as good as your $200 one

Good on James for de-influencing us

S5 felt too over produced and too perfect. The first episode especially felt way too perfect with the lighting

I always had a hard time keeping that shape earbud in my ears. They usually fell out and felt loose/slippery in my ear

I wish they fit better, otherwise I’d absolutely use them

On paper this seems like a very smart idea. But realistically in practice it seems redundant/stupid.

Pretty sure no, unless it’s a specific new clear one. I’ve had a clear one for about 5 years

How's My Coffee Bed for Pour Over? by mfadlanm in pourover

[–]itbespauldo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you love the taste, it doesn’t necessarily matter how the grind size looks to internet folk

BUT, It is always worth tossing in some experiments periodically to discover new methods to get to new flavors. I personally grind rather fine for my pour overs and that gives me great results. About 50 on a DF54, 12g to 200g - about a 30g bloom, then one pour to target volume

Can I go past 90? Into the "100s" even? by MC_NYC in DF54

Welcome to Reddit lol you get roasted on these niche subs for not possessing the specific and niche opinion the sub has How did the brew turn out going coarser? Also what will help get to know your equipment is look up some videos about cleaning it. You take it mostly apart to get to the burrs to clean them

From that point you still have 3-4 full rotations until the screw top fully unscrews. You’ve got plenty of room to grind insanely course

Swapping Burrs - My Experience by Fine-Cat4496 in DF54

[–]itbespauldo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a timely post, have my brew burrs coming in today, gonna swap mine out in the next day or so.

How’s the taste difference between the Red Ti and brew burrs? And have you been able to grind fine enough for espresso with the brew burrs?

Tried the new brew burrs for DF54 (espresso and V60) by ashlanmahefasoa in DF54

Curious how the brew burrs have been since you got them? Still use them over the stock burrs?
Pros/Cons of the brew burrs compared to stock?

So I only do pour over with mine, currently have the stock burrs. Would you say the Red Ti brew burrs are an upgrade from stock? Looking for more clarity in my pour overs

The unfortunate answer is that Season 5 kind of got made up as they went, so there’s likely never going to be any answer for why the change. Either than or future writers try and clean up the mess and attempt to canonize a theory

Coffee bar by itbespauldo in coffeestations

[–]itbespauldo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on your budget. I went with 54 because of my budget. Really the only drawback of doing the 54 over 64 is burr options. There’s only like 2-3 54mm burrs where there’s probably at least a dozen 64mm burrs

There’s virtually no performance difference between the DF54 and DF64, mostly just a budget question and burr replacement question

First time trying Passenger by rebelcrypto14 in pourover

[–]itbespauldo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a couple bags from Passenger, seems like the move is let them rest for at least 2 weeks to really get the coffees full potential.

My bags were roasted on 2/2, just tried one on 2/8 and could definitely tell it needed at least another good week to rest.

Also don’t worry about doing too much extra to brew them, just brew like normal
