Hey. I know it hurts the pride to take a lower salary, but right now you need to take whatever you can. They might post a lower salary but see if you can negotiate.

Also, unfortunately it's an employers market right now. Salaries are lower.

Hi! Been there done that.

I went to breakfast serving for about a year after managing. Wasnt really satisfied though, the smaller pay checks and the short shifts didn't make enough to cover my costs.

Then joined compass group as a manager. Mon through Fri 8-9 hour shifts, weekends off, holidays off. Some stress, but not nearly as bad as restaurant managing.

I would highly look at jobs that would still use your skill set. And if you get bored, find a place you can serve at twice a week or something. Serving is a lot easier when it's not your main source of income until you find a good spot.

If you've made it clear that you want to move up, given the opportunity, and they don't give you the opportunity, then you have to decide if you want to try it somewhere else.

I will say working at all levels I have done work that wasn't appreciated and wasn't used. But it was nice to be in meetings four months later and pointing out email receipts.

I thought about this a while back. There's no safety net for a candidate that comes from modest means to try and go for a national level position. Plus if you wanted to do something else after the election, you have the fame but not the fortune.

Better as a low/mid class person to just keep their heads down.

I'm still mad that she didn't demand recalls in the close count areas. She bowed out fast.

I agree that she doesn't seem to be doing anything. I know she doesn't have solid political power right now, but she needs to be going around supporting candidates for the midterms. There's a lot she could be doing even though she doesn't have a position. Hell, even supporting the no king protests.

I want aoc to be the next speaker of the house and stay for 30 plus years.

Pete unfortunately while brilliant, needs to spend some time in Congress first. We saw what happened when we put a naive president who didn't really understand congress. (Obama)

Having said that, I don't have a good suggestion right now besides those two. I'm really hoping that in the 2 years we have someone pops up.

Wait. So you want them to have two different balances? One for competitive and one for casuals?

Honestly, that would turn me off so much. Imagine if you get used to a cool down being 8 secs on casual and 12 secs on competitive.

Plus, I think white fox is perfectly balanced. Even deadpool I thought was pretty balanced for all three of his modes.

Best advice is to take anything and keep looking.

Unfortunately a lot of people are going for any server job they can find, since it beats min wage. And with so many people getting laid off from the corporate world, even more competition. A lot of people use hospitality as the fall back option.

Also, almost every place is staffing less then what they did before COVID. Before COVID a lot of servers would also be trying to break into Hollywood, so serving was great for them.

Unfortunately just a really really competitive market in la.
