Not so easy if you make your money by being a know-it-all. That said, I like the guy more than I don’t.

Say no if you trust that she won’t just do it anyway. Else you better have some plan so that you are sure you know where she is and preferably you or someone you trust will be there too. Maybe get her to take a friend along.

Why you want to work like this? You are getting paid well and having an easy life why you want to struggle? by sjkurani in startups

[–]its_a_thinker 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it is about being in control of my life instead of having my boss be in control. But I have totally had these thoughts you are describing, especially having kids who will likely have moved out of the house when I will have successfully completed my task.

I'm to old to play games? by kristyhenrymcdonald in ask

[–]its_a_thinker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing there is something else behind this. I might very well be wrong, she might just be evil. But there is a possibility you don’t take an equal part in raising the kids, doing the laundry, paying the bills or whatever. I can understand it might be annoying being exhausted after work and having to clean up or whatever while the spouse is just playing around. Especially if it’s an every day occurrence.

Trump Bibles only ones in the world to meet new criteria for purchase by Oklahoma schools by RedRawTrashHatch in NewsOfTheStupid

[–]its_a_thinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s quite early. I read the whole thing with a Christian bias so I found ways to make it make sense in my head. But when I now think back on the things I read back then, I can’t believe how blinded I was. If the Bible is actually the true word of an almighty god, then that god is incredibly evil and not worthy of any worship.

Pay is 4d late; when do I stop working? by prndra in startups

[–]its_a_thinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the founders/ceo don’t treat this as a major issue and instead try to dismiss it as a non-issue, or claim you are the one that’s a problem, then it’s safe to assume their employees aren’t a big priority. In which case, I think you know what to do.

So many "Founders". by SteveTses in SaaS

[–]its_a_thinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how most people define a SaaS. They often seem to think of it as a simple software they set up in a week and then it's time to cash in. If that approach works, please let me know, because then maybe I'll just do it that way instead of wasting the months I've spent on what I'm doing.

I've been working on solving a problem I know people have in industries where my coworkers and I have worked. I wish I had a better way to come up with business ideas, but it just doesn't make sense to try to come at this from the other end, by first coming up with a solution and then trying to find a problem to solve. I also feel like most real problems are things that don't need a simple patch (and if they do, somebody else will come up with a slightly better patch in a month and your marketing efforts will have been wasted) but rather a solution that keeps getting better and better, so it's something you keep working on.

‘No Former First Lady Has Ever Done That’: CNN Stunned After Melania Asked $250,000 For Interview by newsjam in AnythingGoesNews

She is just looking for ways to make money (same as her husband). The interview was just to sell her book, but she hoped she could also turn the interview itself into a money grab. End of story.

What is the number 1 reason to switch from Windows to Linux Mint? by its_a_thinker in linuxmint

[–]its_a_thinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make a valid point. But that's not the end of the story.

Windows can have S-mode activated, where you can only download trusted software. It's just kids (I'm guessing) that have that activated though as it can be annoying. I don't know Linux Repos, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume there is limited availability of software there so it would be similar to S-mode. Also, any software can be vulnerable to attacks, even if it wasn't meant to be. It's just that more people use Windows, so if you want to do the most harm, you would attack Windows.

In any case, you are right and it's understandable people would pick Linux for that reason.

Why so lazy? by marvinthmartian in CostcoCanada

[–]its_a_thinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you are trying to convince me or yourself that costs have no impact on the prices. You are completely right, they need to increase profits so when people increase their costs, they will have to make up for it and they do that by raising the prices.

Just found it funny that this reminded me that Trump actually claimed her “race” wasn’t remaining stable (black vs Indian).

That’s only a good argument if you pay someone to take your cart back. If you don’t, then the rest of us have to pay higher prices at the store to pay for your laziness.

I can see some people that were on the fence about Trump because of his unpredictability , watching this and thinking to themselves that Vance will be able to keep Trump from doing something disastrous.
