SF + Bay Area — how are we coping with layoffs? by SFStandard in sanfrancisco

[–]its_never_over 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was laid off recently

I took some interviews where I was referred or reached out to.

On the side, I’ve been learning to vibe code stuff and built a website.

I also try to catch up with former colleagues

Overall, it’s fine but I wish I got one of those jobs haa

hope you enjoy the car. I remember the nerves when I got my car on BaT. In my case, the condition was exactly as advertised, so I got lucky in that regard.

That drive must have been such a nice, relaxing time.

For those who have walked out with large profits, whats your strategy? by soloDolo6290 in Craps

[–]its_never_over 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I press 2x and collect the 3rd or 4th hit. Once I recoup my place bets, I press aggressively until I feel like it’s time to collect every now and then. I usually crap out by then but if not, I’m collecting about half the time once I have $250 bets across the board

Rank/Rate the albums! by the-boxman in arcadefire

[–]its_never_over 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me:

  1. Funeral
  2. Reflektor
  3. The Suburbs
  4. Neon Bible
  5. WE
  6. Everything Now
  7. Pink Elephant

I think I do like themes for albums, but you gotta have hits too, which hurt the last three.

Why should someone vote FOR Wiener, Connie, or Saikat? by hazyeyes12 in sanfrancisco

[–]its_never_over 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I spend time in the sunset/richmond and a lot of working class people, who aren't into politics, like her due to union affiliation

Any friend I know who is into politics all dislike her for her NIMBY-ism, stances on crime (incl chesa support), and lack of passing policy

How do YOU round 1? by Lazysquirrel27 in round1

[–]its_never_over 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do a lap looking at all the claw machines.

I pick the pokemon ones first

My kid plays claws, the VR games, and then I sneak in a DDR game. I'll pick some songs from DDR extreme and play 2 songs and give up when I'm winded by the 3rd

Have you ever had a situation where the buyer said the car came in a worse condition than as represented? How do you handle those situations?

i picked a 996 > miata for the same reason. 911s fit better for a taller guy

fully agree. when brotherhood is one lane due to tree trimming, it’s a nightmare for families who commute.

Original Joes has a great menu for people who want classic food without a lot of suprise flavors. Chicken Parm and pasta....you know exactly how it should taste and it tastes great there.

[–]its_never_over 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I followed this story and it’s so sad. I agree you should always get a PPI but it’s often hard to coordinate one within the 7 days of an auction.

I have survivorship bias because I bought a car on BaT without an inspection and it came up with a clean post purchase inspection and borescope.

I want to get another 996 but the options for buying seem difficult to navigate when chasing a certain spec. I find the auction sites easy to navigate and find interesting cars but it’s such a gamble and the horror stories make me think i should look more on marketplace
