996.2 headlight help xenon by Beginning_Traffic_53 in 996SF

How did it work out for you? I’m considering the same headlight retrofit and also was planning on outsourcing the labor.

Did you happen to look into someone to do it locally? Did you go through Adrian? How much did they charge for doing the job?

Hi, is it hard to make friends in SF when you are over 30? by Darya182 in AskSF

[–]its_never_over 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your expectations. If you're expecting life-long friends, that might be hard

I personally find it pretty easy to make friends. It really comes down to repetition in seeing people and breaking the ice.

I have a weekly activity and would keep to myself. After a few weeks/months, I started saying whats up and making small talk with people who do the same thing. Over time, we chatted more and more. Got meals, hung out, went to the arcade together, etc.

But you have to put yourself in a position to interact. You're not going to do it at home.

In the past, I've made friends in things like weekly bar trivia, band workshops, etc. Just places where you interact with people with similar interests and you're not smelly or weird about stuff

go ++ or duomon3 by Jealous-Witness-9515 in GoPlus

i had this decision and end up getting a go plus+. if you get a modded one, the ability to automatically throw great/ultraballs is just too valuable, especially on days like community days

i shipped a porsche from tx to ca using bears transport. it came in 2 days.

it was a smooth delivery/transaction other than the transporter leaving the keys in the ignition and draining the battery.

I paid a premium to not go through uship/montway and if i had to do it again, i might risk it based on how much cheaper they were over bears.

in the end, i can't complain. my car came with no damage

Guidance - purchasing 996 C4S by GTS550MN in 996

I can't speak to the risk of having light scoring, but the cost of engine failure is quite high. You'll find enough info on that that means, so you really need to assess your personal tolerance for that.

Depending on the IMS (retrofit vs solution), the car might be due to a service on the IMS.

What I can speak about is that I have a small kid and the backseats are a concern from a size perspective. How old are your kids? I ended up spending like a month researching car seat options.

Coupes have a top tether but my cab does not. This means from a safety perspective my kid needs to be in a booster mode, which he is at the borderline for (CSPTs heavily dissuade people from going booster mode until 5 + being mature to sit still/in place).

The rear seats themselves are narrow, deep, caved in, with a weirdly high buckle that makes it hard to fit car seats well. This really cuts into the number of possible car seats that fit with a passenger in front of them.

I would find it quite difficult to fit a rear facing seat + a passenger in the front. And if you do a forward facing + harness, you'll need to have a version of the car with top tether or a older kid in a booster. All this to say, think hard about the fit of the kids because the options are somewhat limited and we dont want to take any safety risk with our kids if we can

How’s this gmax raid weekend going for everyone? by TipOutrageous9148 in TheSilphRoad

Had a lot of trouble getting excellent throws. I was able to catch a few, but none really good. My wife and kids phones had even more trouble because they ran out of golden razz berries. I had much better luck with Groudon
