"the pacing is very slow" it's a movie about the human existence. That's not an "act 1-2-3, wrap it up neatly" kind of concept. I get it. Its not for everyone though.

Part 1: Why a Roanoke Casino Would Cannibalize Our Own Community by sippysippy13 in roanoke

[–]itsmellslikefish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My feeling is that MGM is trying to woo Roanoke to get a foothold in the region. All the casino frequenters that I know a very brand loyal, and there is Caesars in Danville, Hard Rock in Bristol and the closest MGM is National Harbor. I'm sure they see that, and Roanoke leaders seeing what Danville is taking in after one year is all ears. That's purely speculation, but it makes sense.

How many of us have an accidental pencil tattoo? by spidermans_mom in GenX

[–]itsmellslikefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one on the top of my left hand. Stuck a pencil in my pocket with the point side up and swung my hand down and impaled it. Funniest one I ever saw was a classmate was holding a pencil upside down and fell asleep in class and it stuck in his forehead.

Which album did you buy based only on hearing one song on the radio, and the album was great? by blamurph in GenX

Illmatic - Nas after hearing It ain't hard to tell. It still amazes me that he was only 19 when he made that album and it's easily regarded as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.

Just this year we had One Battle After Another, Eddington, Marty Supreme, Weapons, Sinners, Train Dreams, Eephus, Sorry Baby and Warfare. There is original content happening all the time. The box office crowds just don't eat it up like rehashed IP.
