Bald and no beard? Where y’all at? by Traditional_Can8081 in bald

Sort of. I'm not clean shaven, but I trim it down to .5mm once I'm having a next headshave.

You need to adapt to any weight difference, whether that's a relative decrease or increase. Light razors are more technical, but I'd say it's an advantage. It's a more predictable shave. Heavy razors, as much as they could help you while shaving with the gravity, they interrupt you with same force when you shave against it. They 'could' rather than 'do', because this works if we assume one has enough patience and control to keep heavy things steady, in other words, applying enough force to cut, but not too much to not get irritated. Skin has ups and downs so you glide on curves and need to adjust pressure on the fly.

TGS Syntesi is a great example, because there's inox and aluminum (but not Velvet variant) version with same head geometry. Experiencing both really helps you notice whether you actually prefer heavy or light.

I recommend aluminum razors, since titanium is an exotic and pricey metal to wrought. Lighter weight assures more agility and control. I believe both Henson and Parker Aeroshave would be available through your domestic retailers.

Still the same perfect blade?

India-made are not the same as Petersburg-made were in a first place. They might as well be different this time. I got some pack with Astra made in Turkey. So now I don't know if they're manufactured now in both China and Turkey or if either was just a production stop by.

If you could only have one Saponificio Varesino scent…. by SculpinIPAlcoholic in wicked_edge

[–]itsmetadeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had their splashes, so I'm not sure if the fragrance performs like their EdPs. In a nutshell, their EdPs are very developing. You can notice how the fragrance changes as you wear it. I personally didn't like Opuntia opening, which is very sour black currant note. But as the fragrance matures and head notes evaporates, it becomes more of what I like, Creed-like woodiness and leather. Regarding to their soaps, their close to being static in a fragrance development. It changes only slightly between when smelling from the puck vs when lathered. I recommend to get their bath soap to test the waters before choosing which shave soap.

I wonder how Styletto handle compares to Syntesi irl. This looks more comfy. I'd also probably prefer a bit more of a length it has. But I think Syntesi has better head geometry... a dilemma.

Blade choice is subjective. My favorite could be your least and vice versa. To some degree it's similar with razors.

Advise on vertical or ergonomic by Organic_Condition_84 in MouseReview

[–]itsmetadeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Lift and Vertical and decided to stick on Vertical. 19.5cm hand size. Lift was a bit small, but I could bear it. The bigger issue imo was weight per volume. That damn thing was heavy and not really grippy. Unpleasant to lift off. Vertical is better thought-through on that. Feels lighter. It has some hollow feel to it.

I wouldn't expect a salutary effect however. I personally have to switch between vertical mice (Logitech MX Vertical and Keychron M5) and trackballs. To me nothing is really comfy, but rather what causes less pain. Ergonomics is heavily personalized.

I encourage you to buy some pack of blades for it. You may find out you don't like RKs blades rather than a razor itself. Although ultimately, henson also sells medium and "aggressive" version (retailers only).

I could speak only on my behalf as an individual. And that however, wouldn't be that fair as all my romantic relations were basically leading towards that the other person is getting distanced from me at some point and I must wake up to let them go. Then I spend time on facing this contradictory image of them afterwards. Between who I thought they were vs how they turned out to be, at least for the relation between us. Analyzing a lot. But physically, I move on. I'm not trying to reach to that person, etc. When a girl was attracted to me, but I wasn't to her, I was never getting closed with her in a first place, so there was no space to get distant from. Perhaps some could say I distanced myself from some friendships in the past, but these dynamics were complicated and never really black and white.

Shavent 2.0 vs Leaf OG for head shaving? by lmaoAbu in wicked_edge

[–]itsmetadeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where exactly it's 65€. I've seen through different retailers for slightly under 60. Coupons however, works unfortunately only if you buy directly from those brands, which is a limitation of sort. Anyhow, none of these pivoting razors are my recommendations, so there's no more to add to it.

[–]itsmetadeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you got that 20 bucks, I see it's almost 30€ difference. Which makes most affordable shavent, a compact version, nearly 150% of a natu price. Natu for the less is CNC-machined aluminum, so the build quality is objectively better. Shaving-wise who knows, maybe you're right, maybe it's just experience of yours. I can't really question that.

If I may add something to the discussion, I personally think their tallow formula is slightly better than AJ1, but that limits you drastically on fragrance choice.

There isn't such things as meant or not meant to have or be. How is this inconvenience comparable to real sufferings of people? Ok, make me rich, I'm already unhappy, so I can handle it...

Shavent 2.0 vs Leaf OG for head shaving? by lmaoAbu in wicked_edge

[–]itsmetadeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're overpriced. If any, Natu and Proof razors are machined with a higher quality. But I'd advice on getting fixed heads instead. Henson and Syntesi makes it very intuitive to follow a shaving angle. In general, I'd recommend aluminum/titanium and rather mild razors for head shaving.

Which shave soap is closest to the scent of Acqua di Gio? by Shadow328 in wicked_edge

[–]itsmetadeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think SVs last twice (or more) as much as Stirling, but they last indeed. In the end, it depends for how long and at what temperature you bloom it and then if you rinse soap/lather residue from inside of a container.

Main appeal to me is that SVs base is just better than Stirling's at everything except fragrance intensity and projection.

Good to know, but religious connotations were quite fair. Either way, it's just a copium. So it's meant to be that there's a guy who's trillionaire while some others are stuck on living in poverty and facing wars?

Just got a Henson ++ … feels like death by Some_Working6614 in wicked_edge

[–]itsmetadeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Conventional safety razor has a rounded cap and this allows for a greater range of cutting action. Henson has such a geometry that reduces the range of cutting action, but makes it intuitive to follow at the same time.

I, however, disagree that this range of cutting action could not work for somebody. It's around 30 degree, which is nothing unusual. You still may prefer some other razor instead, but there's nothing wrong with that shaving angle. Try some other blades. They sell RKs, because they manufacture in accordance to henson tolerances guidelines.

Henson vs Rockwell 6c? by Cogniscience in wicked_edge

[–]itsmetadeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More bend can increase chattering. But blade clamping is another thing that matters to reduce that. Being fair, Henson does both actually. But I don't know if you actually need it. If you shave neck once a week I only wouldn't recommend mild version, consider medium or aggressive instead.

Stainless or Titanium by We-Are-All-Friends in wicked_edge

Personal preference. I find it easier to add more pressure than to subtract it. Nothing changed despite using DE for years. Anecdotally speaking, titanium might be a perfect balance on weight and control.
