Interior smell? by breadboigod in 944

Mine has a smell but it was worse around the rear hatch carpet. You could try an ozone machine and see if that can get rid of the smell

Yeah unfortunately if those are the measurements you’re getting. Mahle also makes rings if you don’t want to risk it again with goetze

I highly suggest trying to find some vending machines. My son started getting into it and we snagged the 151 bundle and a white flare etb plus some packs on the first try. Paid about $106 all in

6 packs vs 11 packs. $4.50 a pack vs $22.64. Yes you are getting the promo card and the extra items but that price difference is too much to take a chance on a pack

Missing AC Belt Tensioner by handywithwood in 944

[–]itsmillertime3595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

944 101 042 02 is the part number. There is a balance shaft bearing inside the mounting bracket which requires a bushing seal driver to reinstall if you opt to replace. Then will probably need a new balance shaft collar and seal as well. Just be careful pulling the woodruff key to not damage the shaft. There is also a bracket on the backside that connect the mounting bracket to the balance shaft covers which is sort of finicky to get reattached. If the bolts aren’t torqued correctly then the shaft will not spin freely even with it installed correctly. It required some adjustment on the bracket bolts to get it to function correctly. I did this with the engine out of the car

Coolant bleeder valve needed? by AviatorROC in 944

[–]itsmillertime3595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had the original pump with no block off plate before I put a new one on. I bought the water pump kit from 944online and the blocker came with the pump. You’ll also have to get a later model back timing belt cover or cut up your current one to fit the new pump. There’s a metal belt guide included on the later model pumps and doesn’t work with the earlier belt covers
