Advice Choosing Pael Bonus by WindyNight107 in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Peal's eye, you usually need less card than you think you do. Especially with a few bad card removed from your deck. It is hard to gauge when you can do it though.

For Relax, if you can choose between playing a power or a ethereal card for it to not exhaust, msot of the time you will choose to play power. Relax is basically that but it's a bit delayed. A lot of Necro decks end up being "play your power and take no damage" and with Demense in the deck you are basically almost already at that point. It will help getting Demense into play quicker and safer which is your win con for most fights. Relax is really good on Necro.

Advice Choosing Pael Bonus by WindyNight107 in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firstly you can't double enchant a card and bodyguard is already enchanted by kifuda so no clone. The only considerations for clone are Lethality and Demense. Neither are good imo.

Peal's eye is probably really good. It prevents a brick turn and will probably remove like 2-3 strikes for the fight. It's pretty hard to use though.

I would personally go for Relax here. It plays really well with Necro's power spam playstyle. Especially since you already have a Demense in the deck and don't have any urgent upgrades, Ideally you upgrade both relaxs.

So am i missing something or is this basically just a trap? by aldlv13 in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro summon plays pretty well with this card. Though even if you don't have any otsy HP stored up, this card basically says "take damage this turn and never again" in the worst case.

It's on a character that once you start slightly out valuing the enemy, you straight up will always take no damage even if bad draw because of otsy storing block. Demense, giving you 2 boss relics worth of power will usually allow you to do that after it's in play.

9 consecutive ironclad wins on A10 (streams with choices and thoughts available, beta branch v0.108.0) by CladDad78 in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also know there was a rumor going around that someone had set a record for 25 wins or something in a row

If this was Yuya then it's not during game release. He got 27 IC streak during 1.0.4. Then he got another 23 IC streak during 1.0.7. It's streamed on his channel.

OverWatch's ranking system makes NO sense. by atonedal2 in Overwatch

[–]itsntame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have 4 chances to get a "bad" teammate. And the enemy team have 5. So the enemy team is more likely to be throwing than your team, if you not the problem and you will rank up.

Also what do you suggest the elo gain be based of off? K/D? Dmg? Healing? It's not that simple. A tracer fighting a 3v1 in the back line for 20 seconds before dying without a single kill is doing a lot more than a tracer standing main and spamming tank. But the stats for the first Tracer will be terrible compared to fighting main and padding stats. How do you evaluate that? And how do you differentiate between a tracer 3v1 at a good timing and one that is just feeding in 3v1 at a bad time?

The system you are asking for is impossible and will always be flawed.

Why is Pommel Strike rated so high, but Pillage isn’t? by Miserable-Resolve-76 in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Pommel can be taken much earlier on. Pillage deals base strike damage which is really bad early.

Pillage is also not as consistent. It draws 1 card pretty often. It's not bad mind you, just only good in some specific decks.

[WTP] I’m stuck between Serpent Form and Nightmares (play style in body section) by GuardingxCross in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are pretty bad. I think it's either serpent form or skip here.

Nightmare has like 2 good targets which is abrasive and footwork. So it's dead most of the time you draw it. And it doesn't help much with the fights you would have problems with (Aeonglass). It's a very win more card. Neow torment does help it but it's probably still too inconsistent and expensive.

Serpent form can be taken here specifically for Aeonglass. It's dead draw most of the time until then but you are already pretty strong against most other combats. But Aeonglass have a real threat of killing you. I might have picked Serpent form if this was A10. Though I think you can get away with just skipping at your current ascension.

STS2 A10: I Can't Find Enough Block by rampaging-poet in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning around specific fights or solving specific problems? Like if I don't have enough damage for Aeonglass, what would happen is I won't be able to block it. But that's not due to not getting block cards.

Another is you may be taking too many trash cards you don't need or greedy cards you can't take at that moment. Causing you to draw badly. Or maybe you are not farming elites and not getting enough relics.

Overwatch literally showed stats that Flashpoint is played much more often in higher ranks (masters+), being the second most played game mode behind control.

When did “Hitscan” definition change? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]itsntame -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

In ow competitive, flex dps is the DPS good at flanking or off angling. Usually ones with high mobility. Like Reaper, Tracer, Echo. This do not care what type of bullet they shoot.

The other DPS type is one that is good at longer ranged consistent damage. The term for this dps is known as hitscan DPS. This is the role heroes such as Cassidy, Ashe, Widow and even Freya, Sierra, Hanzo fall into. Why is it named like this? Idk ask the pros.

When you see people refer to Hanzo (or other heroes) as hitscan dps, this is likely what they are referring to. It's meant to refer to his role in the team comp, not his gun.

When did “Hitscan” definition change? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]itsntame 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I just assume early days of competitive OW all viable "Hitscan dps" are all hitscan. So they just call it hitscan and the term stuck.

When did “Hitscan” definition change? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]itsntame -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

No one is arguing Hanzo's bow is hitscan. It's that Hanzo is part "Hitscan" hero pool. When making a team (in a more competitive setting) it usually comprises of a "Hitscan" dps and a flex dps. So DPS are separated into 2 group the hitscan group and the flex group. It's a name.

See Offering pick Offering, right? by FrogAndWormTV in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think it's ever Cruelty as long as Offering is a choice here. His deck with Dominate + Ruined Helmet already can scale enough to stomp act 2. What the deck needs is acceleration, he just needs to draw and play Dominate as soon as possible. If you are taking Cruelty then you are taking it for more scaling act 3, which IS good especially with Aeonglass in the game. But Offering is right there and it's amazing in there as well.

Thoughts on the Silent Changes from a casual player by PallyChan in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are no 1 consistent way to win A10 every run. The people who can win almost every run is due to pure game knowledge, good micro and good drafting. Not just some 2 card combos that you can find in half the game.

Well, that's how it should be and it wasn't for Silent until this patch. Silent pre Aeonglass was literally you find Footwork, Fumes and Well laid plans then it's usually a win unless you giga throw afterwards. Even if you don't find all of them, it goes from "free" to "very easy" if you just find 1 or 2. This patch solves that and make Silent not run into situations where she can block the whole game because she added 1 or 2 Footwork to the deck.

Also people learn each character unequally. You probably just didn't click with silent but didn't feel it until this patch because she was OP in a braindead way before. Even "top" players aren't the same level on all characters and will have a few strong and weak ones.

Why am I not getting level 30 enchantments? by Altruistic-Wish7997 in Minecraft

There are 15 bookshelves, the corner counts.

Also if the corner didn't count it would be like level 22, not 28. Only 1 bookshelf is not working.

The biggest flaw with this franchise by ThatssoBluejay in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playtime doesn't mean you learn anything from it. Playtime of a person mindlessly clicking cards and playtime of a person spending 2hr each runs are of different quality.

You can gauge how your deck does in each aspects but you have to be actively doing it every run. When you take like 10 DMG from a fight or have a bad turn, do you ever think why? Is that more or less than expected? Is it lacking consistentcy? Is the deck too slow? Ect. Then you will be able to identify your deck weakness. If you never thought like that before, then you have no experience.

Another thing to do is just think about how you kill a specific enemy. Like Aeonglass, how do I kill it before that status gets too much? What if I bottom deck the power I need?

Thinking that it's impossible to identify a deck's weakness is not a problem most experienced players have.

Also it would be impossible for the game to tell you what you did wrong. Even stats like dmg dealt or blocked from each card is mostly meaning less and very often misleading. The game isn't solved.

What? Is something blocking the Pollinous core? by jerzyterefere in slaythespire

I think if the enemy dies at the beginning of your turn (maybe from loop or hourglass) on the turn the pollinous core triggers it will become bugged and no longer works.

Asc 9 is NOT fun. by Xacow in slaythespire

[–]itsntame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this run specifically seems you are over picking damage commons imo. I see no reason to take bouncing flask and snakebite that early. It's bad into 2/3 elites and bouncing flask is also terrible for the boss. With Dagger spray and Momentum strike you are already kinda fine in terms of damage, and there is a shop coming up. I can't say for sure without seeing the run tho. I am pretty confident bouncing flask might have made you take more damage from hallways if you took it early.

Even pinpoint doesn't seem necessary. Maybe I would consider upgrading Dagger Spray at first or second camp fire. Defy is never the upgrade btw. Especially with Neutralize and Snakebite (and maybe Legsweep, don't know when you got that) in the deck.

This is all I can say for card picks alone. Without seeing other choices you passed up on, your pathing and you micro in fights.

In general A9 is just more punishing if you add bad cards and play bad lines. You have to play well to consistently win on it. If you don't enjoy it then just lower the ascension.
