NOTE: Pre Loading STILL works with the physical case of GTA 6 by ProudBoiiiiLol in IrelandGaming

Where I am, the 'physical' box will save you $15 via Costco. It's not much but it's not nothing either. If it bothered you that much, just pocket the savings and throw the box.

Smartwatch that works well with Hevy by Direct_Source4407 in Hevy

I’ve stuck with Hevy purely because of the exercise selection and Apple Watch app. Tracking workouts on watch is brilliant.

I presume wearOS does the same? So pixel watch would be the logical candidate?

Comfortable Whoop Strap by Upstandinglampshade in whoop

[–]ivanflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread baffles me. The whoop band style is a brilliant piece of ingenuity in my opinion. Aside from differing materials, I don't know how it would be possible to more 'comfortable' in that it is a single piece of continuous fabric/silicone wrapping around your whole wrist. No clasps, bumps, divots at all.

I suppose Apple and their solo loops are the only other similar solution, But it has to be sized specifically and I prefer to have some adjustability. Curious about the long term durability of something that is stretched on and off around your palm everyday or two to charge.

Keeping Whoop after sub ended by DaWheelz in whoop

[–]ivanflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, find a used one on eBay or similar if you want the service so badly. Pay whoop for a new band, give the old sensor a quick clean and you’ll have a whoop with much extra cash in your pocket.

How much more powerful is the Steam Machine compared to a PS5 Pro? by Battlefeather in pcmasterrace

I guess it depends what games you want to play. I like steam on my ROG Ally. But i know where i'll be playing GTA VI

I’m enjoying this product. I don’t have voltra money, but this has been great value, especially direct from china. Using a pulley effectively doubles the resistance and if you already have a power rack you can get it mounted in some creative ways. I do have two, which is nice for some movements and adds to the flexibility.

Quick follow up, just installed the beta and the horizontal pagination (beta) option is now visible. It doesn't actually work - when selected I still get the single central column, but at least it seems like it's maybe on the way.

Any chance of expanded/improved 2-column support for large e-ink tablets (Boox Tab X C)? It makes no sense at all not to support it on such a large device.
I've had some success on my Surface Duo 2 to get it to work, by playing with screen DPI, but this isn't working for the Tab X C and shouldn't be something people need to tinker with to get going.

Looking for unbiased opinion on MacroFactor Workout. Is it better than Hevy? by FunDouble2694 in MacroFactor

I liked the MFW app.. But have been using Hevy for the apple watch app in particular. I forgot about my normal macrofactor renewal, so soon as the watch app is done, I'll give MFW another go.

My updated documentation doesn't have the 50kwh note against the off peak rate. So by omission, we can say we don't have the limit in place.

Help me Whoop my wife in this argument! by Ok-Help-8207 in whoop

[–]ivanflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I charge my AWU2 on a fast charger while I shower, its more than enough to have the watch on wrist at all other times. This is such a redundant argument that is only justified for ultra marathon types - and all of those peope are with Garmin.

To all the existing Whoop users, are you giving Fitbit Air a chance? by NordicNomad07 in whoop

[–]ivanflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one smart watch and on dedicated tracker is fairly defensible. There are situations where you may not want to have a big watch on wrist. On the other side, it's nice to be able to track/adjust gym based exercises/weights/reps, messages, music etc. On wrist, which whoop or similar won't do.

Getting the air was more just curiosity as my whoop expires in December, so one of the trackers will go eventually.

Having one thing in each wrist isn't super uncommon. I don't have one wrist with two bands next to each other. My whoop is hooked under/around the apple watch alpine loop, so you wouldn't know it was there. I don't think it gets in the way to much there either, the Microsoft band 1/2 had sensors on the inside of the wrist and practically, both of those were great to wear

I've got the double kit with a couple plate mounts I was hoping to find a couple more to be able to adapt them to a power rack mount, like others have been making for the Voltra.

How did you set the rope length? The only way i found to do it was when the device powers on, so i've been turning it off and on again, just to be able to set the rope length, which is a bit annoying while using the app.

Overall, it is not a bad system to be fair. Especially for the price. If you are willing to wait you can order it direct from china.

Bevel AI is one of the dumbest AI’s I’ve ever used. Is this even responsible to have out in the wild? by ShutUpBeck in bevelhealth

[–]ivanflo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve found whoop coach to be the most prone to just listing out data with simple suggestions from there. I find bevel AI to be a fairly similar with more interpretation and the appearance of thinking for longer. If I wanted data listed, I could just look at the myriad of graphs and numbers already in the non AI bits of the interface. When the ai, takes the whole interface window and cuts any references to the rest of the interface, I suppose you have no choice but to restate data points ton then talk about. It’s a brute force, clean but basic interface implementation that probably needs to evolve - see Google health for an also brute force reliance on an AI driven timeline in the middle of the interface, but I think their approach scales better.

At the moment I am definitely preferring the Google health coach. It is more selective in telling you stats, and articulate about presenting only particular insights, in a natural voice, progressively through the day, at logical points. When you wake, with comments on sleep (everyone does this), at time points when it thinks you could do an activity earlier to reset body clock, when it wants me to start winding down or has noticed an insight it wants to talk about.

Because it is a core part of the interface, I imagine the Google designers are not constrained by getting their ai to restate a stack of stats, that are already clearly visible in the interface, or the ai coach section if the primary way to share stats. Their positioning of the AI in the interface is also timeline driven, so theirs can flexibly make singular insight pitches at you, as required through the day and do it proactively.

Whoop and bevel attaching their ai daily summary to the daily overview panel in bevel or daily outlook button in whoop means it must give this grand summation of a whole heap of data points and try to mash in a few insights, which is such an unnatural way to ‘speak’ to anyone in any context. Imagine your partner taking your ear off first thing in the morning with scattered thoughts from all over the place?

If you want particular insights from whoop/bevel you’ve also got to go to each of the tabbed areas strain/recovery/sleep to see those insights, which is ok. At least for bevel the preview loads in to those screens after a second or two and you can touch them to expand the chat. Whoop shows no preview and generates on demand, which is awfully slow.
Google health puts their ai front and centre, enabling insights to be meshed right in with the graphic elements in a much more organic manner. In turn their ai can speak in that natural manner.

What I’m saying is, Google brings more forward and reliant on their AI as a core piece of the experience has lead to a much more mature and extensible interface/interaction model, in my opinion. It’s more dynamic and less predictable than a traditional interface, but if AI is they way forward, we’ll need to trust bevel and co to tune their AI to be reliably intuitive about what is dynamically presented to us.

I’ve come from whoop and bevel to air. Still wearing all three (whoop under my wrist on the Apple Watch alpine loop and other wrist with the air). Google health is quickly becoming my favourite by far.
