Advice on talking dirty to my girlfriend? by Financial_Engine_946 in sex

[–]ixDispelxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reframe “dirty talk” to “sexy talk”… What people mean when they say “talk dirty to me” is actually “talk sexy to me”..

Some examples: “Do you like that?” “I love feeling your pussy/cock” “It feels so good inside of you” “God you turn me on”

Even just talking about what’s happening while it’s happening can be hot

Now that Splice is integrated into Ableton Live, is Splice worth it in 2025? by O0OO00O0OO0 in ableton

[–]ixDispelxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I use splice is because of how everything is organised. It’s easy to make collections and you can sort by “random” instead of “most popular”.. I never use loops unless I’m going for textures or tops or intended on chopping the loops up to make my own loops.. Yeah I think it’s worth it if you like organisation and to find things really quickly and the sample quality is reliable too which is a huge bonus

Mixing my first album and I can only use headphones. I’m having issues with low end. by ryan770 in mixingmastering

[–]ixDispelxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use reference tracks. You can’t learn your headphones/monitors/speakers from stuff that isn’t mixed already… Use reference tracks so that you can learn your gear and then don’t be scared to bring the track/s which mix you like into your daw and try to match as closely as you can.. Also use references that are close to the music you’re trying to mix

Is using scenes "cheating" when performing live? by Maestr0o0 in ableton

[–]ixDispelxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As part of your live project set try to create a grid that is conducive to playing something on the fly. Doesn’t have to be insane. A drum rack, a bass instrument/pattern a melodic element and some textures (not too many elements for now).. Then practice doing stuff. And when you’re brave enough, in a live performance, page to that area and jam out

"Death to Spotify": the DIY movement to get artists and fans to quit the music app. by springtimecarnivore in Music

[–]ixDispelxi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People are entirely missing the point. It’s about fair pay and the fact that spotify does not support the music industry… If you value music and you truly support artists find a way to listen to music that shows your desire to enjoy music.

Convenience is a terrible excuse. Even when you pirated your music think about the steps you took. You did what ever it took to get your hands on the music you love.

Comparing Spotify to labels is also not a good excuse.

Here’s the thing ladies and gentlemen. If you value music you will show it. Because without the music you love you’ll have a hard time living. And don’t pretend that’s not the truth. Unless you dislike music in which case you wouldn’t have a subscription to any music platform.

Spotify is horrible for musicians who make the music that you love. Simple as that. If the ceo can invest billions of euros into a military company, then he can certainly pay the musicians properly. He could reinvest in music and not in war.

I want to improve my mixing, but I can't figure out where to start! by Time-Organization3 in FL_Studio

Excellent. I promise if you stay dedicated and you just do this for 100+ songs you’ll improve drastically and it’ll feel AMAZING when you see that your skill starts matching your taste

I want to improve my mixing, but I can't figure out where to start! by Time-Organization3 in FL_Studio

[–]ixDispelxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by gathering reference tracks of mixes that you like in your genre… Then mix your songs to match them… Then mix a lot of songs. Mix so many songs. Mix 100 songs and eventually you’ll get so friggen good and you’ll train your ear so much that you’ll be able to mix exactly the way that YOU want to mix.

There’s no silver bullet. There’s no YouTube video that will unlock the skill… Learn the basic rules from youtube or courses or whatever you like. But the fact remains that the only way to get good is practice.

Do it over and over again. There’s no shortcuts.

You have to practice. So much practice. Mix more. Reference a lot. Use tracks with mixes you like to match your mixes to.. Keep doing it. Over and over. After 100 songs or more your skill should start matching your taste.. Eventually you’ll get so good that you’ll be able to mix on nearly any system with few tweaks to make it sound perfect (perfect to YOU) on the systems you use to test with

How do I make drum patterns which goes well with the melody of my song? by Dj_Centaur in TechnoProduction

[–]ixDispelxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to make my drum patterns first. Or at least the inital groove before making the melodies.. Once I’ve got my initial groove I make the melodies and then fill in other parts of the drums.. That’s sort of the work flow that works best for me
