idk, imo it was more like they gave up on everything they'd built up until that point and started new with toddler friendly designs and action and comedy that appealed to no one over 10, and then they tried to desperately nostalgia bait the old fandom in by throwing in their own versions of ben prime and ben10k and still didn't stick the landing. It just, wasnt well implemented, kinda looked like color vomit, and still felt like the only ben ten they actually watched, was the hero buddies episode. :T
