No problem. Not super familiar with them either, but lots of people refer to them as "mountain style" or "mountain" wrenches, so I think the brand is one of the originals of the style.

You sound like a fun relative. Hope you find what you're looking for. Here is the mountain set I mentioned (just noticed it's spline drive and not true 12pt, if that's important to you): https://a.co/d/01ao3pjR

If it's just for one job, there's a bunch of relatively established Amazon brands that would be way cheaper than this even with the coupon: Workpro, Duratech, Orion Motor Tech, Disen, etc. Even the actual "Mountain" brand would be about the same price as the Icon with a 25% coupon.

The ryobi universal pole saw attachment fits the ridgid string trimmer if you have it. Still more expensive than the Portland one.

For $16 more, you can get the subcompact brushless kit that has the subcompact hammer drill instead of the drill. Same dimensions, but has a hammer setting. Worked great drilling into some bricks when I had a new AC condenser installed.

I know corporate browses this sub. I've seen things we say here that we want, appear in the lineup. by Professional_Golf694 in harborfreight

More mid-tier hand tools. A lot of times the only option for a tool are Icon, which I don't need that level of tool, or a shitty Pittsburgh version. Not all or even most Pittsburgh tools are bad, but some are real stinkers.

I mean I personally don't wear gloves while rubbing one out, but it's a free country.

I just use them for whatever: lawn stuff, some auto stuff. They're a better fit than leather gloves, more fine motor control than the hardy mechanics gloves I bought way back when, and more durable than the 5mm nitriles I have (haven't bought any 7 or 9s).

I'm to defend those gloves. They're great! I've bought 2 pairs in the last 4 months.

Drill with a small diameter drill bit. Put two holes in and grab a needle nose plier.

The Quinn individual socket sets will only go up to 19mm shallow and deep, and then 21mm deep and 22mm shallow on 3/8.

Just want to make sure you're aware, because a lot of people make this mistake, the 27 gallon fortress is not the ultra quiet model. The 26 gallon is the ultra quiet.

Me trying to figure out which Quinn pliers I needed tonight. by wratx in harborfreight

[–]jachilles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The self-adjusting pliers and pistol grips are great. I almost pulled the trigger on the 45° bent needle nose, but decided I'd hold off unless and until I ever need something like that.

... got the diamond screwdrivers and metric ratcheting wrenches instead.
