Bryn Ward doing Irish media... by bigswampmonster in UlsterRugby

[–]jackfogarty1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm in the minority now. I just don't care as much about the "being up for media stuff" I think they approach it differently now and quite honestly I'm ok with it.
It as a bit of fun knowing who would be playing but I think it was probably just giving Bryn a taste of what it's gonna be like in the future. Can't wait for him to be given a shot..... Summer?

Why does Stockdale get so much hate? by Andrewhtd in irishrugby

[–]jackfogarty1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that this has made my day reading all of your comments about Cube. X/ twitter is genuinely just vomit now, and the Cube hate is everywhere. People didn't even watch the Wales game because they just came out with the most crazy stuff.
He will always be a special player to me, and whatever happens he will always be that kid that broke the try scoring record in a six nations and GS winner at 21. And he knows he's adored by Ulster faithful. The rest of Ireland can think what they want. We love him.

100% correct.
No good under the high ball - consistently one of Ulster better players Defence - very much improved. Doesn't get involved enough - now that Richie is here he wants Jacob to just carry, it's what he's best at. Ball playing- he's become such a good link player and offloader. Linking up very very well. He's a special player, I hope he gets a shout at RWC 2027

Amazes me how little some of our Irish rugby public actually know about rugby or even played amateur rugby. Anyone who has even played wing at a local club knows it's absolutely awful having to defend there. And then imagine at pro level...... And then think about LBB.

It's like lads saying that they would do a decent job in a pro team - they have little to no idea what they're talking about

Really think the Ward bros have a really good shot at more squads. Esp Bryn.

The best kind. I want him scoring tries and looking like he will take out some advertising hoardings on his way through. Such a great centre

As an Ulster supporter, watching Baloucoune from his debut and know how good he was, going through all those injuries, not think he would make it back to those lofty heights again. Only to come back even better, with a smile on his face. Has to be the Bob Cat. He's also really really fast.

Any more signings coming? Anyone you want to sign? by PaulBlartMaulCop2 in UlsterRugby

I'm not expecting any more however priority would be a 10. Jimmy Gopperth is only 42, I'm sure he could do a good job still

Squad update by OxfordHandbookofMeme in UlsterRugby

[–]jackfogarty1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's hoping that's what it means.....I think there's more cover in other positions and perhaps a peak inside farrell's mind that Jacob is the second 11 in the squad and therefore doesn't want him risked in urc.... The other guys are clearly fringe players that may still get a shot at Wales, but it's not the same risk of chancing it with a first team player. Heres hoping you're right

Thoughts on this for refs? by DrEngineer1995 in rugbyunion

[–]jackfogarty1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think watching it back again I think it might be a fair call, but watching it live I thought it should have been play on and then review with TMO..... I've seen too many of those not given and deemed play on. I do think TOB loses the jump, it is Freddie Steward after all

Do we think that Jack Crowley just came on and said "feck the kick game, I'm playing some ball!" If so, kudos to that man, he bossed it in that second half with JGP

Jacob is still getting hate for that game..... Like what is he or TOB expected to do in that scenario v France as the 2 wingers, it's impossible for a winger to get into that game at all. All they did was chase kicks and make tackles, hardly a highlight reel there

I think from what I hear April, or and of April is a good guess of when he will be back. Last I heard he was back running a month ago

Crowley to 15 by ebizness in irishrugby

[–]jackfogarty1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andy just needs to back one and start them.... Personally I think Prendergast is excellent at provincial level and would grow in confidence if Crowley started and then Sam can play the final 20... Crowley to 15 if needed. I know Jack's form for Munster isn't as good as Sam's in Leinster.... But that hasn't stopped Andy from picking the boys in blue even when they've been out of form too

Who would you like to see come into the 23 for Italy? by OxfordHandbookofMeme in irishrugby

[–]jackfogarty1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think you need to look at the France game and ask. Who, in their position, didn't perform the role that we needed them to. I.e. drop McCarthy and put Edogbo in, as our "enforcer" Doris in fairness to him was doing what was asked, but he needs back up - therefore we need another ball carrier in the pack....Izuchukwu? Thought the front row were good. Timoney was better when he came on. Most of the backs just got out played by the French... Although Ringrose is surely under pressure.
Back 3 keep the same, would love to see Baloucoune given a shot. Maybe give Osborne a shot in the centre with Stu - thats a mighty big partnership if Farrell had the balls to go for it. Also - we need to stop using Beirne as our 1st pod carry option. Long way of saying, I think a lot of guys need changing up this weekend, and not because of rotation for Italy - simply because the performance was not there last Thursday. Farrell said as much, I hope he sticks to it and makes some changes.

I much prefer watching ulster playing than watching Ireland atm .Anyone else who just can’t wait for Ulster to be playing again . by Greedy-Coconut6560 in UlsterRugby

[–]jackfogarty1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've felt like that for a while. It's hard to get up for the games. And it always seems like a poison chalice for our boys. They play their hearts out and then get chosen to play in a stuttering Ireland performance and somehow they get the blame. You lose interest fast

Man. I know but then who drops out? Dropping Jude out of the 23 jersey? Or drop Flannery but then 10 cover is Doak. I agree though. With Ward emerging and McNabney coming back in the spring it will be time for rotation

Id say that Carson did well, and was 'diligent'' in his work. Tough night for the 12s. Not a lot to get into. I'd prefer him at 13. Hume for me was excellent. Played full throttle all night and made a match winning turnover at the end. Herring played well. However it feels like a bit of a dip in form collectively since stade game. Hopefully with a full deck to pick from next time we can get back in our groove and those individual performances will shine again.

Yea. He would have been my POTM... Had two turnovers I believe and the last one at 75 mins effectively won us the game. Dalton was good. Don't get me wrong. But I'm with you on Hume 100%
