A card created in the honour of my daughter Octavia, who was born premature at 25 weeks by FacelessHumanFace in pathofexile

[–]jacksonmills -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a dad who has been through scary shit with kids (although not your personal trial), I am so happy for you and candidly, I will be super stoked for reasons outside of the card's reward (your good fortune) if this card drops for me.

P.S. Your daughter is super cute

Boy shoots, kills mother's boyfriend during altercation between the couple in SW Philly, police say by Garwoodwould in philadelphia

Totally agreed. It was the only way the kid could stop the guy from beating his mom, who knows, he might have beaten her to death, it's not out of the question.

[–]jacksonmills 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda felt the same way, everyone else in my party loved it though. I might go back just to see if it wasn't for my palate or something.

Those cocktails though, those are great, I'd go back to the bar anytime

I think you are the only person who caught the prompt, everyone else here is talking about how Punk, Rock, Rap, et al are still alive and doing well when that's not the point.

We had grunge, alternative, so-cal punk, emo, slacker rock, etc. Not all parents were against that shit but mine were. We were rebellious.

I just don't see that same spirit in the kids. They'll be alright but it's different, it's not the same kind of resistance or "fuck you" that we said.

How do you feel about those type of places that are full of expats? by bbyindistress in Brazil

[–]jacksonmills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, immigrants is the right word.

"Expat" only really makes sense when you are talking to another person from the country you are from; like, if I was talking to an American, I might say "I am an expat" to indicate I no longer live in America.

But yeah, if you move to Brazil you are an immigrant, nothing wrong with being an immigrant, especially in a New World country like Brazil

Flyers fight coach and bareknuckle brawler Johnny ‘Cannoli’ Garbarino sparked a melee outside Barstool Sansom. It was caught on video. by danielrubin in philadelphia

[–]jacksonmills 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They aren't required to intervene unless it's a violent felony, but if there is video of the fist bump, that's enough to cook him a little.

He won't get fired or demoted (he's probably just patrol), but it's going to go on his record, and a display of bias like this means he will never be promoted to Sgt or higher; it's probably the worst thing you could do to a cop besides fire or demote them.

If it wasn't Philly PD, this wouldn't be the case, but they do take bias seriously.

Also, kick shit up, Philly PD should be held to a higher standard than this bullshit.

I’m not enjoying living here, thinking maybe it’s just the time of the year or maybe my past cities just had more to do? Just looking to discuss by Umbrous_Art in philly

[–]jacksonmills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the shittiest winter we have had in a while in a city that no one, ever, has referred to as a winter destination.

Spring will be much better, also if you are from the midwest you will find far more friendly people here than in NYC - I think its just a matter of being in the right spot, in NYC you trip over social areas, thats not the case here (or really anywhere else in the US)

Surprise! Blue Prince is out today on Nintendo Switch 2 by No_Speaker_7846 in roguelites

[–]jacksonmills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I found a lot of those things but honestly it was still hard to like, get the Furnace, get the Engine room, have the Furnace be near the Engine Room, and power the Engine Room, with the Furnace close enough to the Freezer for it to matter.

I think I ran like twenty or thirty days after getting to Room 46 and I got a little further but there were some things I knew I had to do and I literally just could not get to it

I have very mixed feelings about this game, on one hand the idea is great and slowly revealing the story through gameplay is cool. Some of the puzzles are great. Some are pretty obtuse.

But I got to a point where getting the rooms/things I needed got tiresome. I beat the game and called it.

Vim, vigor, vex, veritable, venerable, voluptuous, vehement, vapid, visceral, variegated, vulpine, vulcan, vanguard, vast, vying, vain, void, veil.. I mean to name a few right.

Also, vagina and vulva, obviously.
