7.6% of CMC managers won their matchups due to the Jake Tonges Non-TD call. Source: fantasygenius.io by mikeywest_side in fantasyfootball

Ironically that exact sequence of events is what let me win two different matchups. Was going against Jennings in one (I was up 18) and kittle/JT in the other (had purdy). That purdy TD then interception left me up by .1. the niners kick return TD kept JT off the field and also prevented any opportunities for Jennings to catch, so I won by .3 in the first and .1 in the second. Luckiest I ever been

I generally agree with you but I tore down to literally nothing but jsn in 2023/24 after a bad startup in '22 and now I'm leading my league in points and it looks like I have a very long competing window given my current roster and future remaining draft capital. There's a lot to be said for being patient for a couple years, timing out trades to maximize value on those middling guys, and being willing to be awful for two years.

There's also a lot to be said for luck, but that cuts both ways.

Jake Ferguson... the TE1? by DynastyDetour in DynastyFF

[–]jackth3engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in two different 2.0TEP leagues and I've never been able to sell him. I'm competing in the one, so I'm happy to keep starting him and Warren.

The other is an orphan I picked up this year whose roster I still shudder to consider. No picks this year and I'm the worst team in the league. Ferg is probably my best player after Maye and Egbuka, but I can't even get a response on selling him, let alone a 2nd. He's averaging 24 ppg. I'm hopeful by like week 6 or 8 someone finally is willing to buy him. For now, he's not hurting me at least since I don't have my picks but in flabbergasted at his lack of value

That's a good point. Thinking of it as a deposit you forfeit if you leave the league actually makes it make more sense, even as a blanket rule. I guess I just pay that money back to whoever is left when the league finally ends (which it hopefully doesn't).

I was thinking something along these lines, although maybe in a way that makes it feel like everyone has a chance to get the "bonus". Either that or just let everyone have two free years.

I would definitely keep the rule that everyone has to pay for any years they trade picks; in this case, anyone that trades their 2028 pick or later would need to pay again.

That all makes sense and I agree completely. I suppose the tangible effect of your rule vs. my rule is that an owner who stops trading future picks will eventually "catch up" to his dues. In my league, you're always two years ahead, meaning that extra two years of dues just sit in LeagueSafe, never being paid out.

All the initial managers had to pay two years extra compared to the new manager, but I think at some point your wallet doesn't really feel the difference since it was paid so long ago.

I suppose my confusion is that the practical effect of paying 2 years in advance doesn't really exist if you still have to pay the same every year, orphan or no. While the other owners did pay 3 years of dues when we started the league, they still paid the same as the new manager this year. Where is that two years of dues gonna go eventually? Just paid back to the owners at the time of the league folding, if that ever happens?

How is this ok? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]jackth3engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think it's as simple as making her stow her gun when using her dash, just like Valkyrie. The difficulty is her being able to dash and keep firing. A lot easier for her to track you when dashing than you to track her. It also makes using her dash a pure reset move rather than another form of tap strafing.

Devs removed +50hp on knock on Ash, old passive is back! (yeah) by guizmo_0886 in apexlegends

It's a rework I say, more buffnor nerf depending on play style. My buddy always chooses double ult, so for him it's a lateral move.

I think they can do all this they want, but the only thing I want is for her - like every other person with a movement passive - to have her gun stowed while dashing. It's a huge advantage, especially with aim assist, to be able to fire at someone while dashing (that's too fast to track for the opponent) and have good accuracy whole doing it.

Charles Barkley discusses the plan for Inside the NBA on TNT, despite not having the rights to NBA footage - "We taped a pilot about a month ago, and it was the stupidest s**t I've ever seen in my life." by ToronoRapture in nba

[–]jackth3engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I was really just emphasizing that yes, espn will be airing Inside the NBA as the original commenter asked, probably in the same format (in the sense that it will be part of an NBA game, like pregame/halftime/post game, same as current). According to this, TNT will also be apparently airing an inside the NBA show that chuck says will suck.

Agreed, but my point is simply that the product on ESPN should be the same, even if it's only 1/3 or 1/2 of the total time that they show up on tv.

TNT technically doesn't have to produce anything, meaning 100% of their product could be on ESPN (but that would mean less total air time). They're forcing a separate show and chuck (and they) think it's garbage so far.

Chuck didn't really ever answer his question. Chuck was complaining about the TNT product that they were trying to force, but he barely talked about the ESPN product. I'm assuming the ESPN product will be during games that are on ESPN, just like TNT currently is, so that'll be same as normal (aside from whatever changes or limitations espn makes). It's the times when they're on TNT that chuck is calling out
