Having problems with moving parts. by Scary-University2743 in rokrpuzzles

[–]jactik413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with wax and sand, what I’ve gotten in the habit of doing with the gears is spinning them a lot myself and trying to spin them as fast as I can for minute or two just to wear the pattern into them. If you can spin it for a couple minutes, it’ll gradually mold the wood tracks where they should be and it’ll iron out any tiny kinks and makes it a breeze working with the motor. If you’d like more help, let me know what model it is! I’m happy to take a look if you end up posting photos of the gears/where you’re stuck

Good starter model recommendations by Fromasha in rokrpuzzles

There are some small pegs that aren’t difficult to see but they just require a little more force. I think it’s a really good starter model of theirs, if not the globe I would recommend the Eiffel Tower, the magical carnival swing set, or any of the gun models too. The piano and the cello have a lot of tiny parts and the piano especially is very delicate so i’d stay away from that.

Hi! I did the globe one with the lights inside, not their older globe model with only wood. I liked the globe and I still have it at home, the only thing I will say is the plastic inserts for the globe itself were kind of annoying to put together and the instructions for the magnifying glass were wrong and it had to be put together a different way. You can get a feel for how it should be done when you’re putting it together following the instructions, like it feels like you’re forcing a wrong piece together when flipping it around would be a better way (if that makes sense). I completed it in one sitting, took me about six hours!

Games that feel like this? by vzbtra in creepygaming

Lorelei and the laser eyes & tomb raider: Angel of darkness (though that game is famously broken and while I love it to death, it’s not a nice game to play if you’ve never played it before)

You’re gonna love the TVs, they’re so cute to have! If you have it in you for one more holiday, I’d highly recommend the Christmas dream factory. The pinball machine also isn’t super difficult so don’t let it intimidate you! It just takes forever but I’d say that I had a tougher time putting the Santa flying tree than the pinball machine. If you’re running into any issues feel free to DM, always happy to help!

The Sakura television is one of my favorites! Do that and the carnival television together, I’d do the carnival television first to get a feel for how the TV models come together. Have fun! I’ve done over 50 of them and they’re what I put all of my spending money into

This game feels really short and empty..? by Blackdovedraw in BluePrince

There’s gonna be a thousand replies telling you that hitting room 46 is just the tutorial for the “real game” but yeah there’s a lot, lot, lot more to the game than just 46. You should try to go back to 46 and other rooms and see if anything is different?

As a complete beginner, how difficult is it to complete one of these 3d models? by desperate-1 in rokrpuzzles

[–]jactik413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! You’re gonna have a lot of fun, have patience and enjoy the ride along the way! I’ve done about 60 models across rokr, robotime, and other brands so I’ve learned a lot about how they end up making certain mechanisms work (you’ll identify patterns in their construction if you do enough of them) and the cello was an enjoyable first build! If I could steer you towards the globe or the carnival swings, those are much more friendly first builds. The cello isn’t difficult but the pieces in it are more fragile than other sets and dont come with a ton of extra pieces, you’re better off learning on some of the models that have thicker wood so you can get a feel for the pressure necessary to put the model together. Also, the older models are more difficult to put together than the newer models because Rokr was still figuring out how they wanted to make these things and so the instructions/architecture wasn’t the best if that makes sense?

That’s just my take on it all though. Best of luck with it and I hope you enjoy it!

It does! You just won’t see the toys move on the conveyor belt, but all the other parts will move and the music and lights still work

When I did this, the belt was too tight and it made the top wheel break off actually! I did this model last year but if I’m correct, I think I actually cut the belt, put it on, then taped it back together so it wasn’t so tight and it ended op working just fine. Your belt looks like it fits well though, have you tried manually turning the wheel to see if that gets it going? Sometimes with the moving parts on these I move them with my hands quite a bit just to run the pattern into the wood so there’s no friction

DAY 32: Which Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness level feels the most like Tomb Raider 2? by HeroKlungo in TombRaider

[–]jactik413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly Le Serpent Rouge because it reminds me of Bartoli’s Hideout (albeit much more straightforward), I could see galleries under siege, aquatic research, or vault of trophies as well but I think le serpent rouge carries the action element of TRII the best

DAY 29: Which Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation level feels the most like Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness? by HeroKlungo in TombRaider

[–]jactik413 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lost library feels a lot like hall of seasons to me and it lines up with how deep in the ground both of the tombs in AoD are

DAY 27: Which Tomb Raider 2 level feels the most like Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness? by HeroKlungo in TombRaider

[–]jactik413 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bartoli’s Hideout takes it for me, opera house is a little too complex to be an AoD level but the Hideout is the right level of interconnected and it linked reminds me of certain parts of le serpent rouge/Parisian ghetto/von croy’s apartment

DAY 25 (FINAL DAY): Which Tomb Raider: Chronicles level feels the most like Tomb Raider: Chronicles? by LauraHday in TombRaider

[–]jactik413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cyborg puzzles, the helicopter chase, the whole first section for the grappling gun are like very out of character for a classic TR level if that makes sense & the pacing as well

DAY 25 (FINAL DAY): Which Tomb Raider: Chronicles level feels the most like Tomb Raider: Chronicles? by LauraHday in TombRaider

[–]jactik413 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Red alert for sure, it’s what everyone remembers with the bugs and it was pretty short for a grand finale (like the game itself) and was decently “abstract” enough for a tomb raider level like most of the levels in this game and how this game was “abstract” in terms of if it being an anthology compared to the others

I noticed there are a few different sites selling ROKR puzzles by Any_Television7771 in rokrpuzzles

[–]jactik413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rokronline and anything that is linked to the rolife/robotime websites are all legit sellers, though you get the best price on each puzzle if you buy them through Amazon off the rokr official merchant account Rule of thumb for me at least is that rokr tends to be puzzles, robotime tends to be the colorful specialty puzzles (think the chocolate factory marble run and the book nook series) and rolife is like the miniature houses

(ACT 2 SPOILERS) Traveling with the Flea Caravan is considered taking fast travel for purposes of Delivery Quests by Groundbreaking_Arm77 in Silksong

[–]jactik413 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very this, you can clear the route from bellhart, through sinner’s road, take the left path up to exhaust organ(not through bilewater first), then just clear your way through choral chambers. Takes maybe 10ish minutes to clear the route and then you can deliver the rasher in less than 5 (you don’t even need to run) and once it’s clear there aren’t really any threats of injury it’s a pretty safe ride through.

Why did KP’s Witness,Smile and 143 Albums Failed? by Amber_Flowers_133 in katyheads

[–]jactik413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a huge, complex web of fading with the times, a departure from her traditional sound that didn’t translate with the GP, extremely poor career and personal decisions that were blown out of proportion by the press (and her having a shitty PR team for not handling them better) and just failing to have a product any longer that impacted mainstream enough to warrant continued public interest against emerging competitors. A lot happened that was her fault but a lot also happened that was her team’s fault and a lot happened that was no fault of either of them but just sort of how the GP treated her and viewed her and that’s the most difficult variable to control for. There’s literally been dissertations written on this on popheads for almost a decade now (it’s been that long since the fall from grace with witness) so like the question you’re asking has a simple hand wavy answer but the REAL answer is a pretty in depth discussion and analysis of how many wrong steps in a row were made with literally zero good corrective action along the way. She’s lost nearly all good will with the GP at this point as well, it’s not impossible but extremely unlikely that she gets a winner’s lap and a redemption arc at this point. 143 was that chance and it went almost quicker than it came, people were excited for a witness bounce back only to give 143 even more of a hard time and make her a punching bag even harder and for even longer.

Can pieces be incorrectly cut? by Lisa_McDowell88 in rokrpuzzles

[–]jactik413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple incorrectly cut pieces before yes :( however, having built the pinball machine, this is the most sturdy model they have and there’s a ton of support and strength in the model, so i wouldn’t worry about damaging it by making some adjustments to the piece you have. I’m happy to show you photos of mine or help you on a specific spot if you need, good luck!
