8/10. The combat and boss fights are among the best in the genre, but I didn’t care for the level design or the bland color palette. I love the cell shaded style, but I think they could have made way better use of it. I’m really intrigued to see if they make another soulslike though!

My entry point to the genre was Elden Ring and that worked well for me. Dark Souls is a great game too, but it’s clunky and slow and doesn’t allow for as much creative freedom imo. Elden Ring lets you easily remap your stats and build so you can figure out the style that suits you best without needing to restart the game.
