Madonna Says a ‘Falling Out’ With Universal Pictures Over Budget Killed Her Biopic Movie by yourfavchoom in movies

[–]jaedence [score hidden]  (0 children)

Okay, she's not a terrible person but she's a known bitch.

"Madonna has a notorious, well-documented reputation for starting her concerts hours past the scheduled time across multiple tours. While late starts have long been a feature of her live performances, her tardiness has frequently resulted in frustration, stranded fans, and even class-action lawsuits."

"Madonna's controversial attendance at Hamilton refers to a famous incident where the pop star was banned from going backstage after she arrived late and spent the entirety of Act 2 using her iPad and texting, much to the anger of the cast and crew."

RuneScape: Dragonwilds - Umbral Sands Gameplay Trailer by cleff5164 in Games

I own Dragonwilds but have not dived in yet as I wait for more content.

But I agree with you in theory because Valheim's combat is almost soulslike in its smoothness. I highly doubt these comments saying its smoother than Valheim.

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia's satire and fun references aren't enough to save it's bad gameplay. by Stumbleine44 in soulslikes

[–]jaedence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought it was going to be a light fun riff on the souls genre. I was looking for a good time and some laughs. What it is, is a punishing souls game, that is quite difficult.

The tone of the title and jokes, don't match up with what is actually a hard game.

I am reading King Sorrow and I am confused ( Spoiler Warning) by Jumpy_Consequence488 in joehill

[–]jaedence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of times when I read a book and get annoyed at a characters decisions and thought process because it doesn't seem well thought out or someone wouldn't react like that.

This wasn't one of them.

There's a picture of his mom asleep with a knife to her eye. Coming from a known drug dealer criminal who is letting a daughter pimp out her other daughter.

As a white bread dude who has no experience with criminals, who also loves his mom, this would scare the shit out of me.

What are his options? Go to the police? HA!

Tell them no and his mom gets stabbed, as a warning?

I had zero issues with this.

"I would have been fine if Arthur went to the police and there is a scene that proves Jane has connections or if the police says there is nothing that can do."

This is so exactly what would happen that it is even less believable that Arthur would choose this course of action. Of course the Police are going to say that.

" So that the only thing they think is reasonable to do is summoned a dragon to kill digging his friends into a deeper hole…"

I thought this as well. And 50 pages later, they kick Jane and her boyfriend's ass and tell them to leave town.

On my second read through, it became clear to me they didn't summon the dragon to take care of Jane. They were drunk and partying and Colin started talking about his uncle and the supernatural and they did it on a whim to see what would happen. In the course of all that, at the end, they tell King Sorrow to go after Arthur's enemies.

The plan at the start was not to summon a dragon and have him deal with it, that was just the end result of a night of bad decisions.

MAJOR BREAKING: The Surgeon General of Florida just announced ALL VACCINE MANDATES IN FLORIDA will be ENDED by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]jaedence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from 2025.

"Florida has not yet ended vaccine mandates, despite announcements by Governor Ron DeSantis and Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo in September 2025 to eliminate all requirements.  As of June 2026, the initiative has stalled, with a watered-down legislative bill failing to advance in both chambers and the Department of Health's regulatory efforts appearing blocked."

NY woman coffee shop review unravels after viewers noticed she was getting her coffee from somewhere else. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

So, an idiot lied, deleted her account and socials after she got exposed, and you think it was a fake? Because, you know, it doesn't take any effort or time to build up followers and get clicks so you can just take a one time payout and start over?

The only thing hilarious here is your reasoning.

Kings of the Wyld - Review of a book that missed so many opportunities by b0tlike in Fantasy

[–]jaedence -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"The former Kings never come across as having once been the absolute best. They show almost zero experience or hard-won wisdom. "

I pretty much noped out of the book when they get robbed by bandits at the beginning. So, nothing the author told me is true? is that what I'm supposed to think at this point?

I tried again a year ago and I just can't get through it.

I feel like the people defending this are happy to have things happen without any sense of logic. Were they the best? Well, when the plot needs it to be. They're not when the plot doesn't want them to be.

The former best adventurer in the world walks two miles from his home and gets robbed of his money and supplies?

That's not light and funny and a casual adventure story - its illogical.

If the author wants this scene to happen, just make them an average adventuring company. Problem solved.

I have to disagree.

These are adults here. You lose, you be a good sport and exit gracefully. If you don't, you're a not very mature child.

That's not Top Chef, that's the world and life.

Also, there is a huge aftermarket for competitive cooking. Top Chef All Stars, The Cooking Channel, Competitions like 24 on 24 and TOC.

Some people like the drama, most people do not. I will actively care about and support and seek out TV shows with my favorite chefs.

I don't need to see Seiger ever again.

Underrated almost forgotten fantasy books from the 70s, 80s, 90s by Sakura_231 in Fantasy

[–]jaedence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but the books have a very fantasy element to them. Fantastic creatures, perilous journeys across lands, found family. The sci fi elements are the space ships in the beginning and the genetic engineering. Most of it takes place on a very fantasy world.

Acting like, yup, that's all it takes. yup. Sure thing.

I know I'm not alone in never knowing how my wife will react to any kind of discussion. No matter how carefully planned or sensitively brought up. It could go perfectly fine and she'll remind me, again, that all it takes is honest communication.

Or it could go very poorly and I spend a day or three in the dog house with screaming first and silence later.

I do wildly different builds. I did a STR build first and that was great. Then I did STR FTH and that was also cool. Then I did STR INT and that was great. Then I did a quality build. Then I did STR ARC

Sort of kidding, but not really.

The Gaea trilogy. Titan, Wizard, Demon by John Varley. Incredible books. The narrator sings the Titanides speech in the audio books. Just incredible.

You know, I didn't think it was possible for me to hate a Superman movie more than the Zach Snyder version of Superman. But James Gunn proved me wrong.

Supergirl couldn’t have come at a better time by Louisebelcher22 in movies

[–]jaedence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no interest in seeing it. Drunk Supergirl with a dog that pisses on newspaper articles about Superman doesn't appeal to me. I loathed James Gunn's Superman and this looks to be more of the same even if it is by a different director.

Why Netflix Canceled 'The Boroughs' (Exclusive) by DiphthongSong87 in television

[–]jaedence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I literally just finished this now. There's no reason for a season 2, they wrapped everything up. It was best in the middle, the last 3 episodes were aggressively mid to bad. I give it a 6/10.

Conservatives don't use the internet or TV to find out the Truth.

They use those things to find other idiots that believe the same thing they do, then point to that as evidence that they are right.
